Alright i have talked to Sean and he said he wanted more details, so here we go.
First off i have some new info, I might be able to get my hands on a former lemon so to speak that only needs an engine. It is an MR2 not sure what year or anything but everything is ready to go in the car: Cage, fire bottle, seat and belts. I found out that you do not have to have an expense fire system just a fire bottle. I got a list of priorities that need to be taken seriously:
1. a reliable car. ( if i can get the MR2 we will have that.)
2. No penalties ( no offs, contact with other cars, Etc. Meaning no trips off course to get some used tires. Penalties start at 20 min. and only get worse )
3. radios ( every driver needs radio hook up in their helmet. You can get the equipment and install it yourself for under $100. )
My brother said he is willing to help out with a trailer, spares, any work done on the car, and getting the car to and from the track, in exchange to be able to drive. They just bought a house so money can't go to lemons. We need whoever is in charge ( probably Sean ) and the rest of the group ( still yet to be decided ) to ok this or not ok this.
Thats all I have for right now that I can remember.Last edited by dpeele95; 04-19-2009, 06:14 PM.

I'm in. Been wanting to do this for a while.
And besides, rubbing fenders with Aimee and that hidious t-bird would so be worth it
(remove mind from gutter)

I think the biggest hurdle to overcome is getting a team of drivers/crew together who are willing to pay.
Either way, I'm down. I can turn wrenches and pretend to drive. We of course must autocross the car.

Did you see my LeMons videos on my YouTube channel? I had the best time at LeMons South at CMP! http://www.youtube.com/user/VroomGrrlOriginally posted by dpeele95 View PostI have a 240sx sitting in Huntsville that would love to see the track.
It needs a little work such as: radiator, clutch and possibly a fuel pump.
Race license is not required, either. No particular training at all! If you don't already have a competition license, you can pay a fee, take the novice class Friday night, and they give you a "weekend race license." More experienced drivers will tell you it's the newbies that keep it exciting and unpredictable out there. Newbies doing their first real race at LeMons will tell you it's scary as hell and the most fun they've ever had!
I went to CMP with a bunch of friends and crewed for them - they were running an 89 Prelude and it only lasted 2 hours into the first session Saturday! We still had a total blast. But I won't lie - it was a bummer, especially for the drivers who pitched in a share of the total cost and did not get a minute of track time (for us, this included the car owner!).
This is not something I can do anytime soon, but I hope you can get a team together and go for it. Or find another team to go with if you can't put your own together. I loved those doggone freaks so much I almost ran away with the LeMons people!

LeMons???
Call this a feeler. Call it what you will. I want to run one of these in the worst way. Anyone else out there that would like to talk seriously about putting a car together for this September? I have no idea what it would take to do this. Not the first little clue! But I do know it looks like a WHOLE lot of FUN.
