  • If I could just find a rollbar for a 1st gen RX-7. I used to have one years and years ago. I wonder where that went to? Hmmm I wonder..........

Any cones that I replaced were put in the grass. I didn't realize that some were actually on the asphalt or on the rumble strips.

You could have taken a break instead of giving me the passing flag when that e30 was one lap away from actually passing me

In Cholewa's corner the cones tended to be center track.

and no, I didn't put them there. Not sure how I missed the outside ones a few times, but I escaped cone-free for the weekend

        • Many of the cones at TGPR are intended to keep folks away from places where, if you go off, you will start to dig a Big Dangerous Hole(TM). I wouldn't be proud of hitting any of them, because of both the property damage and the unnecessary workload on the volunteers. Cleaning up cones delayed several sessions, too.

Even if filled in regularly, these places get dug out, again, and quickly, if they aren't guarded by cones. This is especially a dangerous situation for our friends on motorcycles who share the facility.

Track management mentioned that they will probably extend the rumble strip, soon, on the right-hand apex in the Cholewa corner, #6, since that is a really bad spot.

BTW, I think that was designated as Larry's corner, this weekend, long before Michael got there. . .

          • I sure hope my comments above are not taken as advocating reckless driving or property damage. There is certainly no reason to be proud of either.

            • Great weather
              Great times
              Great friends
              Great place
The best event in SEDIV for TT in 2009 is the high water mark for 2010 already. We do need a few extra corner workers for next year and yes SEVERAL want 2 events at TGPR per year but we need mo people to take on the big dog roles.

Because they heard I liked my name, so they put my name as my name so I could have my name in my name... all the time.

You talkin bout me? I guess there were only 2 E30s in the PDX, so I have a pretty good chance.

Passing flags or not, everyone did a really good job with quick point-bys.

                  Great Weekend!!

                  THANKS WORKERS!!

                  • Yeah, that was you...way back in the distance on the back stretch when I first got the flag from Mr Cholewa. I thought he was just messing with me, then thought "I know Matt's faster than me but he's not THAT much faster"

I think you caught me through the hairpin on the next lap and went by next time down the back straight.

                    • This weekend was a blast!

Much thanks to the workers, instructors, and officials that made it possible.

I think I did pretty well - the scariest moment I created all weekend ended with 'Nice save' from my instructor, which is still something you don't want to hear, but is a lot better than the tale I heard of 'brake . . . Brake . . . BRAKE!! . . . never mind'.

                      • That was a nice save.

I had a really close view.

                          • What a GREAT weekend! It was the first time in the Racer on a track for my 16 year old nephew Jason and he had a blast (he ran a 1:15.4). And following a Honda Odyssey on the track needless to say was a new experience. Loved the track and hope we can arrange to come there more often. Thanks to Craig for guiding me through the paper work for Jason. Thanks to Bobby for working with Jason in the TT school, to George and Mark for the weekend operations. Thanks to John for all his pre planning (our thoughts are with him and his family). And a BIG thanks for to all the workers for allowing me to do what I enjoy so much. TVR I don't who you bought the weather from but I hope Atlanta Reg goes to the same store in May.

                            • Just wanted to say what a great experience I had this past weekend at the time trial event. This was my first event. I had never been on track before. You guys made me feel like I was such a part. It made the experience just that much better. I really wanted to tell each one that volunteered, thank you so much, you guys are awesome. You guys are professional, knowledgable, nice and encouraging. Can't wait to do it again, I'm hooked!
