So we did not order a pair of driving shoes. We can if needed but we were going to wait because we had to buy everything at 1 time.

Yes, you can use boots as long as they are all leather or non flammable. I was using creative license to illustrate that even with all the NOMEX on your body you still need a fire extinguisher.

Wally, that is too much drama to digest right now!
I have plenty of drama in the garage....... Still need to:
remove softtop/frame
bleed brakes again
drain coolant to shorten/secure lower radiator hose (get it off the header)
finish new shorty exhaust setup
set ride height on new coilovers
get car aligned (no strings, thx)
weld tabs on a arms for the new hollow swaybar setup and preload bar
roll the fenders
change the oil

gotta move mountains tonight.

That is a simple answer - No! Giving away 400#, 20HP and 42 years of seniority plus using 5 year old tires just does not make sense to even think of being competitive. I was happy to finish 2nd at Crow in that scenario but the tires were two years younger then. TJ has the cojones of youth plus being a superb driver who just keeps getting faster with experience.

I would love to be driving the FF but the engine is being rebuilt. Will have to give the DSR a test run or two.
