I want to, but I have to think realistically here. With work, family & play I'm hella busy. The car still needs some sorting. I was even thinking of selling it...I need the dough. So I'm thinking attend a PDX w/ SCCA & get a feel of TT before spending the money. Ya know i might not be ready for the commitment & money. Anyways, the Speed6 & some R-compound would do the trick just right in PDX....lol.Originally posted by e30Racer View PostYou not doing the TT school Edwin?
I still want you both to come out and critic the spece30......

Bump for the Time Trial Event and School. If you haven't registered, why are you waiting? There's a limit on the PDX so if you want to drive the PDX you need to get those registrations sent in to Craig Farr. I still need workers for this event as well. As you all know without workers events like this one cease to exist. Help the club and your fellow club members!

I'm wanting to PDX, but I'm holding off on sending my entry until I'm sure the check won't bounce. Overtime's been a little slim, this year, so far, and that's where most of my play money comes from.
Plus, I should probably wait and make sure I don't find a wall at Road Atlanta, next weekend.Chuck Schultz

Checks aren't cashed until after the event, if that's a concern.Originally posted by chuck schultz View PostI'm wanting to PDX, but I'm holding off on sending my entry until I'm sure the check won't bounce. Walls are easy to come by at RA. Be careful!John W8

More important than the check, I don't want to pre-empt somebody who's definitely ready before I am.
The wall problem is now moot, since I canceled on that, today. . .Chuck Schultz

Hey guys - 1st time poster! Bitterman's buddy told me about this event coming up. I'm not interested in door-to-door racing, but TT is more my game. Was looking at the pdf paperwork and the "class" section. I have what SCCA says is a "Prepared" miata. Of the classes listed on the pdf, which does mine fall into - it's rather confusing and hard to find the classification page. Just trying to read all the classes, rules/regs for SCCA. Only thing I think I'm missing is a extingusher suppresion system and a logbook. Just got membership last night and look forward to spending more time with y'all! I have 5 track weekends with various clubs but never with SCCA (mostly @ BarberMP - bmwcca, chin, audi, zclub, pboc). Non-stock Turboed 1.6 miata, full Kirk cage, hardtop, kirkey seat, 5pt harnesses,. bla, bla, bla...
This should be fun if I can get my crap squared away!
Edited to add spoke with Bobby rewgarding some things.
Where can I get a bracket for the transponder I'll need to rent?Last edited by GeneSplicer; 03-15-2010, 09:37 AM.

They're generally available for ~$5 at the rental desk for the transponders. Maybe Craig or John can confirm?Originally posted by GeneSplicer View PostWhere can I get a bracket for the transponder I'll need to rent?
If you're running a turbo'd early Miata and it's still got an interior you should be able to run in SM (Street Mod not Spec Miata...yeah classing is confusing). Fire system not required in SM, it's a Solo class and an "approved" fire extinquisher with metal bracket is fine. If it's a gutted race car you'll need at least battery cut-off and a fire system, and it'll probably class as a SPO. Do you have a fire suit?
Make sure you have padding on rollbar surfaces your helmet can hit, and that your seat is installed with a seat-back brace. If you are running with a hardtop you'll need arm restaints or a window net.
You can usually get tech'd for a logbook onsite Friday night.Andy Tow
