Does the NDCCC clinic have a dedicated page on the ALSCCA Web site? If not, I could build one. I can see something with photos, testimonials, maybe instructor profiles? What do you guys think? I'd just need someone to help with content and I could do design and development.

I'm thinking a one-pager or a micro site with a link back to the main ALSCCA site.

So, there is a NDCCC page ... but it's a bit out of date it seems. this is the copy that currently exists:

      ---

Designed and tested by experts, The New Driver Car Control Clinic is a 6-hour investment in the safety of young drivers who don't yet have the experience necessary to deal successfully with those first few emergency situations.
      Hands on Training
You and your New Driver together will be given a classroom presentation of the principles of car control followed by hands-on range-training exercises to improve the New Driver's accident-avoidance skills. On the training range you will apply the methods outlined in your personal copy of New Driver Car Control: From Kamikaze to Competent and the 45-minute, step-by-step instructional video--everything you need to conduct practice sessions on your own.

The New Driver Car Control Clinic Includes
      • 1 hour classroom instruction
      • 5 hours range-training in car
      • 45-minute instructional video
      • 56-page step-by-step workbook

» NDCC FAQ (frequently asked questions)

      ------------

Some is just incorrect, like the booklet and the video. The rest is good. we may just need to remove the incorrect parts and possible add a few more lines if needed. It definitely needs more graphics/photos to illustrate the hands-on training.

That would be a good idea to make a new-improved page or two. The old one doesn't really do a good job explaining anything or making it seem worthwhile.

Sean and I met yesterday and story boarded the first revision of the PowerPoint presentation. We have 43 slides, many of which are multimedia slides to reinforce the instructor and take the place of the white board drawings. We will be including video, virtual demonstrations of the exercises, animated exercise diagrams and animations/virtual demos to reinforce the vehicle dynamics discussion.

Those of you who are somewhat objectionable to PPT as a presentation tool will be pleased that there are very few "read from the screen" slides in this presentation. Only the major bullet points are listed, and I think that includes only 4 slides in total. This presentation has been designed to reinforce the instructor, not be a script by any means. Once the instructors are comfortable with the format, they shouldn't even need to look at the screen, which will help in keeping the attention of the students.

Greg, the one thing I need is a high resolution copy of the NDCCC logo to use in the presentation.

Sounds like you guys made some real progress. I'm anxious to see it.

Thanks Greg. Not sure when I'll have a working copy of the PPT to pass around, but it shouldn't take long to get the basic structure in digital form. Building the multimedia assets will take a little time though.

The layout we came up with will definitely go a long way towards keeping the classroom engaged. It's going to be alot of fun and very informative.

Can I see it when I come over for SuperCyber Autocross Day? (I know, I change the name of it every time I refer to it... we need an official name...)

Not sure how far along this will be by the 20th. If there is something to see I'm sure we can do a demo and tweak session during the day on the 20th. If it's not that far along then, I'm gonna go with NO, you can't see it

I can plan to have something by the 20th ... maybe not with MM elements, but something to show the flow.

And my vote is "Super Duper ALSCCA Virtual Solo Regional Ultra Championship of the World Contest."

So um, our region is NOT listed on the NDCCC's homepage... Is there anything we can do to change that?

I also thought it savvy to request some more of those nifty red shirts so everyone can have one and we can look a bit more... professional when we do this.

I vote for building a new and improved version of an NDCCC page just for us. We can do better than what's there .

Yes, we need to remain in a low profile position from a national perspective. While we enjoy the benefits of the national NDCCC insurance coverage, we are allowed to operate as an independent unit. The less waves we make, the better; so, no, we don't need to be mentioned on the national NDCCC page. In fact, I don't even want to publish that web address. We are what we are - Alabama Region SCCA NDCCC. And as such, we need to remain under that umbrella as well, meaning a page under the ALSCCA site, which we can improve until our hearts content.

Please remember that we are in a unique position in offering this program. We don't need to conflict in any way with the national program or we will lose the opportunity to conduct these clinics and surrender all the benefits we, as a region, gain from doing so.

I'll be happy to discuss this off line. 'Nuf said.

Quick update on sites. I have spoken with my neighbor and he has spoken with his captain. They will be discussing this further after the Christmas season is over. I have been told that is interest from the correct person in what we do and they do see the benefit of being involved in this with us even if it is only helping us with the site.

I will keep you guys up to date on this as it goes along. I have a few more sites that I wil be checking out in the next week or so and if anything breaks loose this will be the first place I post the news.
