I obviously feel the need to be there, but I'm having a hard time justifying driving and hour and a half each way for a one hour meeting. I'll see how the day goes. I might have the spousal unit in tow; we can at least have dinner "in town" if we make the drive!

      Greg,

If you want to stop by we would love to have you. I do understand the drive is a long one though. If there might be one thing other than good company we could tempt you and the wife with it's the fact that Fox Valley Resteraunt can be hit by a rock from my front yard.

If we don't see you today hope to see you tomorrow sir.

        Hi Sean,

Do you have any idea when the "hour meeting" might take place? My drive to your house will be about 3 hours, and I have a few things to take care of before I leave. Either way, I'll be there later today, and hope that the comfy sofa is still available for this evening.

Honestly, I really dont know when the actuall formal "meeting" will take place. This is more of a brianstorming session that we can all take part in over the course of the day. Get on the road when you can.

I can do you one better than a couch. We have a bed! lol.

If I'm coming, I'll shoot to arrive around 4:00; that seems like when Matt may also be there. As for Fox Valley, it's really good, but can be a bit "pricey". Last time we had dinner there, I dropped about a buck and a half. There is a Mickey D's in Alabaster, right?

I'm a bit swamped with work, but I'd love to pitch in some thoughts. When/Where are you all meeting?

Not to be totally assenine or single out this post, but,I can give you some really up close and personal reasons why online registration for NDCCC is not a good idea......These are their kids.

i can tell you ...as a father....I want to identify a voice, face ,blood sample ,and all of these things at one time before Im going to sign up a kid to be instructed on driving.

This is not something I would do online as a parent FWIW.I may be a minority though.

I also think the volume of online registration would be absurd. We're already booked for at least one season ahead of our current one, and just imagine if people could simply get online and sign up how massive the wait list would be. The kids would be in college before we could get to them.

Until we can get a site large enough to hold 2 clinics at once, we are fine with our current registration set up.

honestly, it's possible to run the whole thing with 3 people, just not as efficient. 4 people would be better, and 5 would be the optimal number.

Not sure if you remember me telling the last group about how it was when I started, in the band room at hueytown, with Greg, Ken, and myself. It took a bit longer but all in all it worked just as well.

                        all we need is:
                        1: person to teach/give criticism
2: person to work the lights/stand in the middle of the cloverleaf/help setup
3: person to start the cars/set up course

past that, it's just more people to talk to kids at the end of exercises to keep momentum going. and up until the last few straight line exercises, 2 people is plenty.

With 15 students we need dedicated cone runners and at least 2 people talking to the kids to give all students the seat time they need. If not we'd be there till 8:00. I do see where you're coming from though.

Honestly, 5 is plenty, once you get to the threshold exercises you only need the person to run the lights, and 2 people to talk to students if you tell them how to look for a start signal. Cone picking up is only necessary in the slalom exercises. All in all though it is much better to have 9 people show up to lend a hand than have 3 people try to run it.

I would like to put a stop to this. Yep we can do it with 4 or 5 no doubt about it. I don't want anyone to see this conversation and think we don't want 10 or 12 volunteers at every clinic. More is better. Please come out and see what the NDCCC is all about. I promise you will leave feeling very good about how you just spent your day!
