like I said it was for sale for 80 bucks and looked really nice on the forum I was surfing so I went ahead and snapped it up since the same guy was selling a knocklite which I had just bought.
The supercharger is sucking through the throttle body and I was noticing before the engine went that the boost would taper off from 9PSI to 7 psi at about 5k RPMs so I had the inkling that this might be due to a lack of available air since logic says that the faster the supercharger spins ....the more boost it should generate . I however cannot rule out a problem with the recirculation valve .Ricky R

The question is, have you maxed out that flow potential by running the supercharger? If so, then the larger tb really won't make a difference. If not, then the larger tb could help. I don't see a real downside since you're using the tb with a supercharger which will likely be pushing enough air for it to not be detrimental like matt said. But lastly, i would like to add the following below.....

yes all thoughts I have kicked around . Putting this bohemoth on should certainly rule out that possibility LOL. I got a slightly smaller pulley coming that is a quick change so that I can get away from the press on pulley for the charger to increase overall boost ...this pulley is supposed to take the boost to around 13 PSI and since I droped the CR a 1/2 point it should be a good addition .
The M62 may be a little undersized CFM wise for my 2.4 liters but Id need to look over some compressor maps and plug the numbers in and see . It was used on the 3.3L v6 from teh factory but that was at around 3 PSI so that may enter the equation as well. We shall see.Ricky R

Yeah ... 3psi is nothing. You are definitely asking more of it.Matt W.

through the throttle body!I decided against doing the dual 248 exhaust cam thing. Decided for simplicitys sake to do a 240*intake cam from an S13 and a 232* exhaust cam from the S14. Originally it was a 232* intake and 232* exhaust . Might try the 248* cams at a later date but i dont need extra challenges at this point in the game.

After a closer look at the boost specs on a frontier/xterra it appears I was incorrect on the boost level it makes on those. It is between 6-8 PSI with a stock 2.65" pulley on the 3.3L v6 so the M62 should be plenty for my 2.4L. The boost falloff would have to be an inequity in my setup.Ricky R

air intake tube is completed and throttle body is mounted. Engine ran for the first time this evening and the cooling system is purged . Just a few details to see to before the maiden voyage.Last edited by zukitek; 06-10-2012, 10:02 AM.Ricky R

Thanks guys . I finished the idle control plumbing today , bolted the hood back on and took her out for a spin and first impressions are summed up in 1 word....w-o-w! 13 PSI of boost , a more than adequate supply of air and the longer duration intake cam have transformed this thing into a totally differant animal .
I am skeptical as to whether or not the clutch is going to be adequate. ill give it a week or so before I start putting it through its paces but I am thinking I have found its limits. A torsen LSD is a must have now .Ricky R
