Im still calling the Conquest guy today. I guess it all comes down to what runs and what is cost effective. We shall see.

i heard a rumor that the ford version (the probe) was supposed to replace the mustang. any one else ever hear that? if it is true, THANK GOD they came to their senses before they did that.

It's true. I remember Autoweek running a cover story on the "Next Mustang" being a FWD turbo four with an artist conception of the car. Pretty sure it was either 1985 or 86. Needless to say it really hit the fan for Ford once the story broke. The car came out in 88/89 as the Probe and the real Mustangs soldiered on.

As an update, I'm awaiting a test drive report on the Mazda. It has been parked for around 6 months, but ran fine at the time from what I know.

Drew and I downloaded Nelson Ledges for GTR2 after the Rolex race and got in a bit of early testing. I've watched a few in car laps on youtube and while the graphics and textures aren't all that great the overall layout looks pretty good. Nothing like knowing the track before you drive it!

I saw a volvo wagon for sale in the classifieds for 350 OBO, needs an alternator. Tons of parts cars, tons of resources, bullet proof motor, and depending on the trans, bulletproofness as well. Hopefully it has an M47 or an AW71 depending on the manual/auto. Both are awesome boxes that withstand a heavy thrashing.

The question is, will they use the whole track for the LeMons? They certainly don't at CMP. I'll bet they'll be turning right, instead of left, at Oak Tree corner.

I really need to contact everyone that said at the beginning of this that they were in on the driving side of this here thing. I know we have several folks that have offered time and effort, but did not want to drive and it's my thought that if you are driving the costs are on you and we should bend over backwards and byt the folks that aren't driving but helping out several beverages of their choice and other stuff.

So, if you happen to be keeping up with this thread and you are in for driving and sharing the expense of putting the car together, please let me know. If I don't hear from the folks that were interested in here over the next two days, I'll track you down!
