i loved the trillogy, all 5 books (or is it 6 now?). the movie wasn't that bad. they just left half the book out (like the whale). its the whole reason i have a black car w/ a black interior & a black dashboard w/ black switches lit by black lights.

this one always amazes me how few people actually know the answer. everyone know the answer is 42, but what is the question?

I haven't looked into it, I'm just posting preemptively because I can..........there is a rule that if you use a "pre lemons car" you have a different budget. I know that I just saw an article about this in GRM or Roundel or something. Several guys built a BMW e30 that they had run over a couple of Lemons and each time they upgraded a few parts here and there.

I also know that there are several (as Chuck put it) "bogus judges rules" that if you are given a car (donated) they will most likely put you at $1000 off the bat on your budget. So, that means that if you take the donated car and then spend your $500 budget you are looking at $1500.00 total budget and that is many many minutes penalty. You then have the unfortunate reality that you have to not piss off the judges or anyone else out there or your car can be taken and "crushed" or "burned alive" as I think they call it within 30 minutes. You have that time to strip anything you want to save off the car.

Mark and I have looked into the Lemons on a few occasions and try to soak in as much information as we can whenever we see something about it.

I think the best way to go about the build is to get a "previous Lemons" car that has a good "stock" suspension that is dependable and then put some TOYO R888 on it and run with it.

And Yoder is right, 5 sets of tires probably would be needed (used ofcourse).

sorry, the guy who took the pics came by & picked up the camera before i had a chance to dump them onto my computer. hopefully i can get it back for at least a few minutes to dump the pics tonight.

i did find out the reason it was traded in was the oil was run out & it was knocking . unless someone has a scope i'm guessing the 1st thing we need to do is pull the head to see what the damage is.
