I've heard (actually, after I bought a 626 with one) that Mazda automatics are prone to failure, so this probably is a point to consider.Chuck Schultz

http://bham.craigslist.org/cto/1161570769.html I think it's too big to start with, but it would be so cool!
http://bham.craigslist.org/cto/1161238522.html Now this would be a beast! These things were mega quick with the 4.0 and this ones a 5 speed as well.
Here's a crazy question. Would an air cooled VW have even a chance of lasting 24 hours? And if an air cooled VW wouldn't last, would a Motorcycle drivetrain in a gutted beetle have a chance? I know someone that might be interested ni making that a reality if there were a place to work on it with proper tools.

if it runs decent, I know it is pretty darn quick in a straight line. I'll call my friend in VA and ask how much of a PITA the head gaskets are on these things and what problems we could be in for.

how exactly would you go about putting a cage in this ranger? theres already no room for the driver. not to mention the throw of that shifter being aprox 2 feet.M. Cholewa
Because they heard I liked my name, so they put my name as my name so I could have my name in my name... all the time.

Hi, my names Michael. I have nothing good to say about anything. The cage is simple enough to put in there.

Yeah ... run the bars through the rear glass. Replace glass with plexi (lexan is beyond the budget ... or would that be considered safety?).Matt W.

I'd assume if you're doing it that way, to just get rid of the rear glass entirely, it would be much safer, and allow a nice down draft to help keep the interior cooler. AND you could easily duct from the roof through an open window.
There's also a lot of potential to put something odd in the back. Hell, you could put a bbq pit in the back and feed people in the paddock before and after the event.M. Cholewa
