If that's the case, then I'm not sure if this is the car for us.

OK, do we want to move forward with this here ride or do we want to look for another? Who out there can either swap motors or at least get this thing running if that is possible? Bill, will your friend from up there help us get it running?

With the look of that engine, I'm not sure it would be worth it to try to get it running. Having the cylinders and valves exposed for who knows how long will most likely require a rebuild. Not to mention the parts I see missing off the bat would be around $1000 retail. Of course, finding stuff at PaP might be easy ... not sure how many cars had that engine. It's an F22, right?Matt W.

If it's the F22A, it was in the Prelude S and Accord. Not a wide range of parts cars.
EDIT :: I'm asking my brother if he's got a parts car around ... they've got a few yards and connections with many more. In GA though.Last edited by TouringBubble; 04-29-2009, 08:26 AM.Matt W.

The fact that the coolant hoses are missing, and probably have been for months upon years, is a really really bad sign. The block probably looks like swiss cheese from all of the corrosion and exposure to the elements. Not to mention the plugs being out. I'm with matt on the idea that that motor, is going to be a big hurdle to overcome.M. Cholewa
Because they heard I liked my name, so they put my name as my name so I could have my name in my name... all the time.

the plugs are actually still there. just the lines were pulled. so the cooling lines being missing is probably the worst thing from a sitting there for 2 years perspective. i'll give rick a call & see if they mind if we pull the head before we agree to take it.
i have an engine hoist, engine stand, ring compressor, cylinder hone, torque wrench, mics & just about any tools wo need to rebuild/swap the engine. rick said he would be willing to help as well.
the 94 prelude came w/ either a 2.2l or 2.3l engine. the accord from that era was VERY popular, that engine also came in the rav4 (i think), it probably came in some of the acura cars as well. finding another engine shouldnt be to hard. finding it in budget will probably be VERY hard. lots of drag racers drop this into a crx or civic (they dont have to turn). we can always go look & decide on the spot if we want it or not. if we decide to get it, sat would be good either early, 8aish, or late, after 1p. we just need to find a trailer.l8rcu

I have a new driver clinic on Saturday. So, if it's going to be got, I can't be there that day.

Keep us in the loop as to what's going on with the MR2. It is still our best and least expensive option.
