  • March 1st Virtual Solo...

I have 2 circuits complete and will have at the very least 3 more by Friday. The trophy is up for grabs for local racers and I am looking at opening this up to online racers as well. I think we have a really good idea of how to run things with each racer having their own name entered and logging best laps from each track it will not be too hard to keep track of.

I am also speaking with the guys at www.race2play.com about taking this concept out into the sim racing community and them setting up a dedicated server to run sanctioned events with actuall prize funds and sponsors. We will be streaming the March 1st event live via ustream and possibly doing some commentary along with the stream. We shall see how it evolves.

    I'm there.

Question though: how many sims will be up and running at once? And should I bring my wheel/pedals or no.
    M. Cholewa

Because they heard I liked my name, so they put my name as my name so I could have my name in my name... all the time.

I'm sure I'll be dragging mine along again.

Sean, am I hosting this one from my place on the spare machine so we can run online and get rid of the Shift+R issue?

Heres the thing. If we remote host it from your place how would we switch tracks?

Oh good lawwrd can I not experience my shame in private? I was happy to come along and make you all look good, but I'm not sure how I feel about being broadcast about the cyberuniverse for all to see. Perhaps I will come in costume. Yeah, that's the ticket. Nobody will ever recognize me.

lol. When you're in the seat we will keep the cam on "in car" and use a vocal scrambler. Of course they will still be able to tell it's you by the cone count .

I thought about not going their because of the size of the opening in that comedic door. Then I said to myself, you have to.

OK well this comment can in no way be directed at ME.

I do not recall having excessive cones die at MY wheels.

Well let us examine the results, shall we? WHy lookie there: ZERO died at my first outing, I was either DNF or clean And my 2nd event points #10, 6 runs, 3 of them I killed one cone each. IS THAT A HIGH CONE COUNT? I'M JUST SAYIN.

Um, not that I'm sensitive about it or anything.

I am leaving that whole "comedic door" thing totally alone....Cholewa will address that I'm sure.

It's just the direction my sense of sarcasm took me. I didn't research the previous outings and normal folk would apologize, but I just kind find it in my heart to do so, lol.

                      See ya Sunday

I believe those are the server commands. We can log both machines in to the server as admins and either of us could switch the course.

I could probably log in to your router again and setup the port forwarding to get a server online locally, but we still have the Shift+R issue that restarts all cars on course if done on the server machine. This won't happen with the remote server.

Call me some time and we'll run a test to verify that this works. I've tested the server (you and Paul both connected) and the server functions myself, but it won't hurt to do it once more.

I will need the courses the day before to load on the server though ... I promise not to run them.

                            Sean, I posted on S3R ...

Also, I'll work on a course or 2 over the week as I need to make some more anyway.

Could we talk soon about driver names for remote participants? We could use the LOTA format, or first and last name, but we need something to keep scoring straight ...
