the scratch can't be repaired without paint work, sadly. But, for the same price as paint, or even cheaper, you could get a nice Voltex wing to replace it, or just have the one you have covered in carbon. Carbon fiber is very strong and doesn't scratch.

My girlfriend drove my car and mistakenly put diesel in the tank! Help?! What do I do! The car won't run or start and she's stranded on the highway now.

That problem solved itself. Change your phone number & get a new car. She'll never find you.

You'll never pass the broomstick test if you're even 6'2''. You might as well sell the miata and buy an e30. Much more room, and just all around better in my opinion. I'll save you the trouble and buy the miata from you for $100.

So, I bought this Miata from a really tall guy for $100, but the seat is way too low for my mom (who I bought it for) to see over the wheel. What should I do to make the car driveable for her?

The cheap fix for your grandma would be to hand her some birmingham phone books and maybe a chair pillow from her kitchen chairs. OR you could get her some nice Bride seats that will really hug her and keep her in place while she is taking corners at 10 mph! As a last resort you could always cut the windscreen off, cage the car and send her off to the track.

I drained my oil today and it looked all weird ... kind of like chocolate milk. What happened? Is my engine okay?

of course you can wash it with the top down. the water is good for rejuvenating the leather.

[full disclosure: i wash mine top down all the time, mainly 'cause I'm too lazy to put the top up]

Speaking of washing cars, is it okay to use dish detergent?

Of course it's okay. Special "car wash" is a ploy by the automotive industry in cahoots with the detergent mega-corporations to sell the same product for more money. Actually, car wash and dish detergent are the exact same thing!

It's really best to use the cheapest dish detergent you can find. the lemon scented stuff is the best because the citric acid helps break down the dirt/bugs. If you have stubborn bugs or tar spots, you can use Comet with a Magic Eraser and it'll come off real easy.

Guys, I used a mixture of transmission fluids recommended to me on another forum, and when I drained it after 15k miles, it was like a green color and really thick ... chunky almost. There were also lots of bits of metal stuck to my drain plug. Is this how transmission fluid is supposed to look when drained?

Obviously you shouldn't have to change your transmission fluid just run it. I hear it's good for 100,000 miles before you even have to start worrying about it.

On a side note, I'm shooting for 425hp out of my normally aspirated 1.6L, I don't have much money for all that fancy machine shop work, (which I hear is a scam anyway) which spark plugs would be best to reach that HP?

You should definitely run the e3 plugs. I've seen dynos where they make 47 whp! Well, they weren't really dynos ... more like street comparisons. Well, not really real comparisons ... more like graphs drawn in Photoshop, but still! 47 whp!

Hey everyone ... I don't like how slippery the little rubber stuff on my pedals can get when it rains. What can I do to make the pedals grip better when wet?
