  • 2011 ALSCCA Time trial Event

Attention Time Trial and Club Trial Drivers! It’s been a long cold winter and now it’s time to get thing heated up! The COOLSHIRT 2011 TVR/ALSCCA Level 3 Time Trials Championship Event, TT School and Level 2 Club Trials is ready to start the year off with some fast times at the track.

The COOLSHIRT 2011 TVR/ALSCCA Level 3 Time Trials Championship Event, TT School and Level 2 Club Trials will be held March 19-20 at Talladega Gran Prix Raceway. Tech and Early Registration check-in will be held Friday, March 18 at the Track starting at 5:00pm.

Club Trial Drivers! Ever wonder what your times were at a PDX? Now you’ll know! Just so you can see what racing in a Time Trial event feels like, we are having a Club Trials event for you running concurrently during the time trial event. You will be in a run group with other Club Trials drivers but mixed into the group run order, just like the time trialers. There will be instructors for you to help get you up to speed and show you the proper line around the course. Get a feel for your limits as well as those of your car.

Safety requirements can be found in the Time Trials rulebook under Level 3 Track trials and Level 2 for Club Trial entrants. Go to http://www.scca.org/contentpage.aspx?content=44 for the latest TT Rule book.

Entry forms are available below so hurry to secure your spot. We will also open registration on MotorsportReg.com very soon. To maximize track time there is limited entry on the Club Trials so don’t wait for the last minute. Fill it out and send it to Eden Powell before March 5th. 2011. SCCA Membership is required. Everyone must sign the waiver at the gate.

What's the purpose of the experience questionnaire for Club Trials drivers? I suppose it's to help decide who needs instructors and to split groups.

For the school is it necessary to fill out that novice license permit or do we just need the entry form and physical?

You need to fill out the novice license and entry form and you can save the physical for when you send in your license application to SCCA. Your car will also need to be "logbooked". Rich Crowell from TVR does this. It's better to get your car inspected and logbooked before the event to give you time to fix any problems that may be found during the logbook inspection.

You did read the car requirements for a TT car, right?

You can also register online at MotorsportReg.com http://www.motorsportreg.com/index.c...1DA562F28EFF05

Yeah, I read up on everything. Just need to get the window net and the fire extinguisher set. Since y'all have experience with it, what is the best option for the fire extinguisher?

Thanks for answering my other Q's.

I see alot of 5lbs handheld extinguishers mounted to the diagonals of a rollbar with metal hoseclamps. Or bolted to the trans tunnel with the bracket that comes with the extinguisher

in order to pass tech ....the mount bracket for the fireextinguisher will need to be metal . This is a little harder to find than the easily available plastic ones.

IIRC, I paid around $100 for my bottle with mount . I believe it was from http://www.discoveryparts.com/cgi-bi...1296758558.181

No word on the annual inspection session. It would be a good idea to contact Rich Crowell up in Huntsville and take the car to him. I did this last year and he took care of it pretty quick.
                          Rich is a good guy.

We will likely setup an annual tech inspection pretty soon .I just need to get with Rothermal and Crowell to see where and when they would like to do one . Stay tuned . I have been kindof waiting for the weather and overall busyness to lend itself.

anyone have a contact/email for Rich Crowell? I've searched over the TAC/TVR site and forums and haven't been able to find anything for him.
