  • Praise from Parents

I occasionally get emails from parents after attending the NDCCC. I think it appropriate to begin sharing them with those of you that make this program possible. Here's the first:

    Greg:

Kylee and I both want to thank you and your instructors for teaching us Saturday. It was such an unselfish and wonderful thing for you guys to do. There is no telling how many lives you will touch and have touched by being hero's. The world needs more people like you guys.

    Thanks again,

    Kylee and Bambi Riggins

I just wanted to thank you again for last weekend’s clinic. You and the other instructors were so helpful. We really appreciate you all taking your personal time to do this. You made it fun as well as informative. Please send my thanks to your whole crew.

I just wanted to thank you and everybody else for teaching The New Car Driver and Control clinic this past weekend.
I had spent a day with my daughter having fun and learning about cars. I really appreciate what you and everybody did to

help my daughter become a better driver. She now feels more confident in her driving skills and has a better understanding of
      how to control her car.

Thanks so much for giving up of your time Saturday to teach this important class!!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

You know, the really important facts about cars and being a new driver that you spoke about to the young people on Saturday seemed to get their attention. It is very refreshing for me as a parent to know that Ben enjoyed the whole day and really got a lot from your class. He drove for a while and asked me if I would finish driving home because he recognized that he was tired.

Thank you and many thanks to your team for a great day!

We are very blessed to have the ALSCCA do this for our kids and our communities.

I wish it was possible to have every new driver go to this and learn what we did. If I had known how to control my car when I was young maybe I could have avoided a few accidents. Of course I caught a lot of grief from my daughter making her get out of bed on a Saturday morning, but she talked about it to her friends and our family the rest of the weekend so I know she had fun and I know she learned a lot. Thanks again for making this possible!

            Greg,

You guys NAILED it Saturday! I was so impressed with how the Clinic was
structured. While I had high expectations, you guys totally exceeded
them. Eric was in a very bad wreck last March. Fortunately, he was not
hurt bad. Both cars were totaled. After seeing those cars, I knew that
the Lord had protected him. And I also knew that I needed to get him
into this Clinic. It took awhile but it was so worth it. I am so
THANKFUL to you and your team for working with him Saturday! I have no
suggestions to improve it. I just encourage you guys to keep doing what
you are doing. You personally were INCREDIBLE as you encouraged the
            student drivers.
Thank you so much! If I can ever be of assistance to you, please
            contact me.

              Greg,

I just wanted to thank you and all the folks who helped out with the clinic.
I have no doubt that my new driver as well as the others who participated
learned more than we know. Special thanks to Wally and also the the taller
red haired volunteer whose name I did not catch. They worked well with my
daughter and gave her individual attention that really helped when she was
              getting discouraged.

              Regards,
              Jimmy Webster

                Greg,

Many thanks to you and your staff for an eye-opening day of driving with J.P. You were correct when you promised at the very least Saturday would be worthwhile because I would spend it with my child. It was much more, too.

As J.P. goes to a school that does not have Drivers Education classes, I have sought out classes to help him be a good driver. He did take the class in Montevallo last spring and that was more of a "how to" class for learners. After six months of J.P. driving with his parents, the Car Control Clinic was the icing on the cake. The class taught J.P. to have more confidence behind the wheel, and emphasized safety. Defensive driving is the key to staying out of an accident. He says that now he isn't as afraid of losing control in an accident situation because he knows what to do.

I'll let you know if and when his new skills are used to avoid an accident. Again, many thanks.

                Sincerely,
                Carol Sauer

                  Greg,
We want to tell you what a wonderful experience last Saturday's clinic was for our family. It was exactly what Anna and Meredith needed to be safe and confident drivers. It was what Ralph and I needed; to see that the girls can listen and relate what they are told and correct what needs improving with practice. The only suggestion (wish list) is that this be a recurring clinic under different conditions (impossible to predict and schedule, but you asked!).
THe instructors were so perfect for teenagers. They related well and were so encouraging, cheerful, and fun.
I am happy to recommend the clinic to all new drivers and their parents that we know.
                  Thanks again.

Greg, Amy and I both enjoyed the clinic - she might have enjoyed it a little too much! I spent most of the time with my eyes shut and hands clenched on the dash while Amy was laughing and having a great time! Think she's ready to sign up to be a race driver.

Thought the clinic was very informative and definitely useful. And, was really a fun day spent with my teenager.

                    Thanks again,

                      Greg,

I just wanted you to know how much Johnny and I enjoyed the clinic. I think it was a tremendous help to him and has really given him a great deal of confidence in his driving now. Both you and your staff are to be commended for volunteering your Saturday to do this and we do appreciate it. Don't change a thing. You have indeed made the streets a little bit safer.

Plus it was a hell of alot of fun!

                      Thanks again.

                        Greg:

Thank you for putting the clinic on...Catherine learned so much. I saw her
transform from a timid driver to a confident driver in just a few hours.
And she had a blast! I learned a lot too.
As you suggested, I let her drive home. We live over in Mt. Brook so we
took Rocky Ridge Road...she hit 50 mph in no time and I had to tell her to
slow it down. She said, "Dad this feels so slow now!!" If anything, I have
to guard against overconfidence now but this is a good problem compared with
not having the skills that you taught her.
I was indeed amazed at how all the kids improved in such a short time. The
girl driving the Highlander was totally intimidated at first but just nailed
                        the last two drills...
This class is worth its weight in gold. I would gladly pay more.

fantastic. Can we get name tags for the next one? we know their name but most of the time they don't know ours.

Because they heard I liked my name, so they put my name as my name so I could have my name in my name... all the time.
