Yep...we missed you Greg. Just so you'll know, the shootout was Zac's 2nd autox and first as a licensed driver. We both ran his car in June for his 1st. He's having a great time at it and finished 3rd of 14 in novice. It was also my 5th event. I doubt either of us would have been there had it not been for the NDCCC program.

And thanks to Mr Cholewa for jumping in with Zac during the afternoon runs. He was originally anxious about having someone other than me in the right seat, but it worked great since he knows you from the NDCCCs.

They should be posted at the end of the day if even as "unofficial" just so folks can see how they did. Then the solo chair can review and approve the times and post the OFFICIAL results at a later date.

3 days later is not quickly. The very honorable TAC team posts them the day of the event or by the next day.

Just remember that the club is full of volunteers that are using their time and skills to provide free services. I used to complain about horrible courses untill someone suggested I volunteer and "try to do a better job". I still get complaints from some, but overall feel that
I provide a valuable free service to the club. I have even come out to setup courses when I am not even running.
So please be patient with people that are volunteering to provide services for the club. It would even be OK to thank them (even if it is not done to your 100% satisfaction). Volunteers make the events happen. I challenge more people to volunteer to learn some of the important positions and help with them (or even make them better)!

Clay, First let me say, Thanks for all you do for the club. Second, I couldn't agree more. Volunteering to run an event or do a specialty, or work a corner at a race is very rewarding and you get a whole new perspective on what it takes to put on the show. Third, the driver pays an entry fee for a service, in this case, providing results of their day of competition, so expecting some results to be posted, even "unofficial", as far as I can tell, isn't asking too much of a volunteer organization.

John, while I agree that it would be great to have them posted at the end of the day, I would have to contend that people should stay for the trophy presentation and then they would know how they did.

I'll admit, I've been lazy. But bitching at me isn't getting them posted quicker. Just FYI. I'm sending myself a note to get them posted tonight.

                        John,

Thanks for the thanks, but I really wasn't fishing for that. I think fast posting of results are great and appreciated. Would a possible solution be to give someone a printed copy of results at the event and let them scan and post them "unofficially" that evening? Or is there a better solution? Instead of just simmering, let's come up with a workable solution that makes most people happy

The better solution is for me to just post them when i get home.

Sunday was a really long day for everyone and I just really didn't feel like dealing with the changed that needed to be made at that point. So, I decided to upload them Monday. Stuff has just come up every night since then ... including me being lazy or working on other projects.

If you think that it's bad to wait 4 days, it could be worse. It took 4 WEEKS for two different regions to post results for events that I ran last season. By that time I really didn't care because I was so frustrated checking for them every day.

I understand both sides of this issue, and appreciate the dialog that is working toward a solution. Bitching and flaming never accomplish anything except resentment. Thanks for keeping it civil and productive - that's why I keep returning to AL events.

I just understand both sides of this predicament. At the end of the long hot day, you finally made it home and you're tired, hungry and a bit smelly. You want to get a shower and have some dinner and chill out for a while in the AC. Next thing you know life gets in the way and things get put off til later. I know.

As a competitor I like to compare my run times 1st to last as well as how I did against the others in my class. That stuff isn't part of the trophy presentation. I propose a solution, what about this...could I get the results downloaded to a flash drive after the events and post the UNOFFICIAL results as an attachment (PDF) to a post on the site here? That way the drivers get to see their results and the Event Chair can review and post the OFFICIAL results at a later time in the official results location.

Just offering some help. If it can be done, I'll bring a flash drive to the events.

                              Let me know.

Since I stuck my foot in this, let me offer my services to have the times posted no later than Monday night. If anybody would show me how to accomplish this task I would be very happy to do it. Don't know how many events I will be able to make but somebody could E-mail it to me and I promise to be a good steward of the job at hand. Sincerely, wally lacey
