Great day yesterday. Congrats to C $ gangsta for the win in SM. By the skin of your teeth! LOL I thought the course was going to be painfully tight at first honestly, but it turned out to be faster than I thought. Good job John and Darryl. We haven't caught you guys….. yet…. and probably not for a loooong time lol.

The no spectators in the old grid area along the fence griped me a little. Not sure what the logic to that was. I had it explained to me as a hot course area, because it was between grid and start/finish with cars coming off and going onto course, but people are always walking to the bathroom through the gate where cars are coming off of a hot course and through the gate to the trailer where cars are going on course as that area is always between grid and the start/finish. If that was the rule the whole time I wouldn't have questioned the reasoning, but since it was changed to this one event even though it occurs every other event, it grinded my gears (ayo)

"Why can't we sit there? We always sit there and people walk to the bathroom/trailer right beside cars coming back to/leaving grid to the start/finish line." Ain't even know.

I'm itching for results, too. Probably checked 10 times already. I gotta know what went wrong my last run. Frustrating morning turned into a great afternoon for me. Thank you volunteers for running a great event.

Thanks for the offer. ALSCCA has a new timing and scoring chief this year. I'm sure there will be some delays while he gets up to speed, but in the end it should result in a more efficient system with some exciting developments.

              Great Course

The true measure of any autocross course is the number of DNFs. Apart from the intentional DNFs, the total number of unintentional DNFs was so small as to be statistically insignificant. That said, the subjective measure of a course design in my opinion is indicated on my "fun-o-meter" or "funometer". This course broke my "funometer" so it is off the chart one of the greatest I have run on! Mega kudos to our course designer!

I'm sort of surprised to see the Results use last year's classing (no Street or Race designations) and Index factors. What's up with that?

We are looking into this. Our first TnT event this year used all the proper 2014 designations and PAX. However, we had an issue with Axware, and our computers, and since then it continues to upload with 2013 stuff. Hopefully this will be remedied soon.

Agreed, but Rod said its part of the rules for the hot course. If we could locate grid to allow spectators behind fence, that would allow them to encourage others to come out to the sport b/c they can see how much fun it is. Standing way back in the first parking lot isn't much incentive for spectators. Just my two cents.

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and torque is how far you take the wall with you.

The only other possibility is to locate grid in the parking lot along with the course. That can create some serious issues and will really hamper the length and variety with courses. We are doing what we can to make it all work. But we are also at the mercy of OMA and in reality, they have been more than adequate and have actually given us a heads up or at least take into consideration our needs. But in the end, they have to look out for themselves and make money. I have no qualms with that.

I was trying to explain the rationale as I understood it from the safety stewards. I support their assessment. Two-way race traffic in a confined area with drivers amped up after a run and restricted visibility due to their helmets is simply not conducive to spectator foot traffic, especially spectators with children.

Also, spectators were & are still able to drive down to the civic complex side, sit in their comfortable cars out of the sun, and watch. Given the current situation, that's the best we've got for now.

My largest concern at the moment is how the deck is going to be finished (railings, plants, etc). At the last event they were obviously still constructing, hence the reason we did not need to be around.

Once things get settled, over the next month, we will be able to re-assess the situation and possibly make changes. For now, safety of the cars and people, as well as the OMA facilities is top priority. If things show to be too tight to properly maneuver through the area then we will plan to not use the deck area for grid.

As Mark said, OMA is very considerate of our needs and desires and wants us to continue to come out. I am sure the situation will have an agreeable ending.
