Forum will no longer be utilized!

After facing many challenges with utilization of this forum for many years, the board voted on the evening of 1/12/2026 to stop use of the forum in favor of the modern, more effective means.

Most of our general club organization will now be coordinated via Discord and results from our events along with schedules and announcements will be hosted on our main alscca.net webpage.

What does this mean for the old forum? Well, in short we are going to stop using it. This has been reviewed several times in the past few years, and there has been a desire for some of more tenured members of the club to have the historic content preserved. In an effort to preserve this content, it was discovered that we could not simply export the content to be placed in a modern website. This forum will now become an archive only forum and will not be monitored. If you wish to preserve any of the content, this is your time to search the pages to find it. There is no promise that this content will remain available forever with the fragile nature of this forum.

What a great day of autocross with great weather! Thanks to the Kilgores for getting everything up and going. The course was one of my favorites at Oak Mountain. It was a great blend of speed and technical elements that demanded precise braking and discipline to find the fastest line.

Unfortunately, I only got three runs in the morning before the car broke. I pulled out the kart for the afternoon and promptly broke a throttle cable without completing a run. Luckily, I was next to one of the best prepared BS cars in grid and found my way behind the wheel.

Thanks John Allen for letting me drive your awesome car for the last three runs! Thar car is serious fun! Thanks to everyone else who helped me out today: Darryl Engle, C, Nicky V, Heath, and Nick Reynolds.

Hopefully my schedule will allow me to make more events this year, especially if they are like today.

Couldn't agree more. Excellent weather and great flowing course with good speed and challenging control options. Very good day, thanks

Took last week off work to spend with my wife & kids on their Spring Break vacation. Went to beach & got some good family time, but weather stunk... windy & rainy. Finally got to have some FUN on the last day of the break at Autocross! Just what I needed to have some fun & to relax before heading back to work.

Sunday was a beautiful day. Great course, weather, & good to see old friends & to make some new ones. Big Thanks to Mark & John (& everyone else) who makes these things happen! It is going to be hard to wait until the end of May! I'm with C... we need an event in April.

B-T-W... who designed the course yesterday? Great job, whoever it was!

Thanks for the two drivers who let me snag a couple of rides, I hadn't been out to autox in a couple of years.

That would be Mark and I up to the end of the slalom, from there to the end was mostly Clay McCool. Pretty much a course by committee.

Course design is an interesting part of autocross. You can set things up, thinking it will be a super fast wide open design, and it turns into a tight-pinchy-bitch of a course. Sometimes, after setting up many many courses and doing it wrong time after time, you actually get exactly what you were hoping for. The case yesterday, was a bit of both. It was a bit tighter then expected, but in reality made for a great challenge that needed some real braking and accelerating, and fine line choice to make it a fun.

I hope that anyone, I mean ANYONE that even thinks they might want to design a course, please get in touch with Mark or Myself, or Clay or John W8 or Nicky V and we will gladly take your assistance with designing a course, and might even let you free for a trial by fire (with a bit of guidance ofcourse).

If I placed the car at the right place (which I found by trial and error) I could open up the first right sweeper, entrance into the end turn around and the final slalom. It took a while though to put them all together. I really liked the course and the fun of trying to catch Sam and John. Finally a nice day to autocross after the last several weeks...

Nick and I had an absolute blast yesterday. We loved the course and the competition was intense. Nick threw down a 33.669 on his last run to beat my previous best run of 34.2xx, but I found just enough on my last run to take it back with a 33.603!! I don't think I can hold him off much longer, but I'm sure going to keep on trying!!

Thanks to everyone for a great event!!

Not sure what all is involved, but I am happy to help with posting the results after each event if the powers that be wish to grant me that distinctive honor (even for any event that I might miss!).
