yeah, i don't know what santa you are talking about Darryl, but I don't get anything from Santa until the 25th of December. Maybe that was some of your Hanukkah stash, or is that Festivus?

I need to send my letter to the santa that Darryl and Sara write to. I certainly would forgive him if he came a couple of days early with a nice ported or turbo'd 13B for my RX-7.

I also got all the pieces and parts to put the new intake together, with a lot of help from Pop.

As well as a bag of Dzus* fasteners to redo the splitter with.

*No idea how to pronounce Dzus...

If I drove it on the street I would put a filter over the velocity stack, they make a cone filter that clamps right on to it. There is a four inch hole on the front bumper that is the only place air can get in to the intake. I guess it is possible but very unlikely that any thing could get in there on an autocross course. It will have a wire screen to keep anything big out.

So what do we call the next step past "miata-rocket?" Apparently you've moved up to that.

Why do I keep racing these weird cars?
Why can't I just get a miata and be happy?

I always pronounced Dzus = "Zeus"... in fact, that's how I thought it was spelled for a long time before I saw it actually written out. haha

Yep, "zeus" is the correct pronunciation. Why you'd spell it Dzus is beyond me...but somebody thought theyd like to mess with the rest of us I guess.

Been there done that.. you would be surprised what can get sucked up. We tested and tested and no air filter was not what the car liked, seemed it like a little restriction. Actually lost horsepower without one. I would dyno test that plan if I was you.. Having done this on "real racecars" over the years.. if you go with no filter, I have a word to add to that screen... Pantyhose... they make a good free flowing "filter" but keep lots of stuff out of the intake.
