Hot Rod power tour needs us to help

I was contacted by a representative from HotRod magazine today about our club helping them put on an autox on June the 10th at the Hoover Met.

Its on a Thrusday is the biggest problem I see but they are willing to pay the club and throw some shwag to the individuals who would help out .I would need timing and scoring,5 cone chasers ,and a course designer who would be able to do this .

It would not be sanctioned or insured by ALSCCA as they have their own insurance. They just need us to set it up and run it .

I think it might be an excellent opportunity to get our foot back in the door at the Hoover Met.I have not told them yes or no but I will need to probably by the end of the week.

Who wants to do it ?

Would this be a full day event? I could probably swing a day off work for T&S. I'd need a cone yeller to help.

I will try to schedule off that day to help with course setup if you can confirm the date. It would be very import to the club to get all members to make an extra special effort to make this happen. It has been a long time since I have set up a course out there...

At this point ,June 10th is the date ive been told of and the Hoover Met is the site.I have invited Eric to join in the discussion to answer questions I cant so I hope he does chime in .

The schedule for the day is still liquid but all day would be a safe bet.

I don't know what the "Hoover Met" is. Is it Regions Park Stadium aka Hoover Metropolitan Stadium? (I Googled it)

I'm in - I haven't seen a Power Tour since 2000.

Last time I saw a Power Tour there weren't any cars in attendance capable of handling a Clay McCool Autocross course. There were lots of Hot Rods with wide tires in the back and skinnys up front and shiny cars that were polished with diapers.
