Well, the Escort's probably straightened out enough to go play, but now we need some brake work on the tow rig. I sure hope there's enough money left over to enter this thing. I've been looking forward to it all summer.

Either way, it'll be fun, even if I'm just standing in a corner.

Actually, Sue had some cash set aside that I didn't know about, so I'm probably in. I just won't push the button until after we buy groceries.

It will be good to have you out there-the more the merrier! And by looking at the list, we have a diverse group of cars as well.

                Yay! Keep 'em coming (please?)

By the way, the schedule is subject to change depending on how many more register. There may be combining of groups here or there to maximize track time and keep from having two cars on track at once.

whats the deal with the pre-tech inspection "done prior to event"? Is this something that actually needs to be done or is a tech inspection at the track sufficient?

The pre-tech inspection is something that you will find with any club that I've ever run with. I just got one in the email from PBOC for a Barber's event that's coming up in a few weeks. Fill it out and bring it with you. There will be no at-track inspection besides what your instructor feels is necessary.

There are two seperate inspection forms. One that is done ahead of time and then a smaller one that is at the track. So I guess you could just wait to fill out the smaller one with your instructor when you arrive at the track.

We're up to 22 people now!!! Woohoo!

Howdy all. Total noob here. Just joined SCCA & am looking forward to my first DE at TGPR this Saturday. I'll be in a 1988 Porsche 911 and from the registration list it looks like I'll be the lone Porsche? Alright, I'll do my best to represent!

I am not a wrench and don't play one on TV, so got my tech form done when I had my car in for engine & gear oil change & hydraulics flush last week. Washed'er up & she's in the garage until we head out Saturday morning.

I was looking for where/when to report for tech on Saturday, and it looks like rather than reporting to a tech inspection station or something like that, our assigned instructors are responsible for teching student cars before we get on track Saturday morning. Sounds good to me. See yall on Saturday!

                          Registration

You'll have to sign the waiver and get a wristband at the gate before getting onto the track property. As far as I know, the registration will be in the lower level of the building formerly known as the tower not the Silo. Be sure to bring your completed forms, Drivers License, SCCA membership card. If you are not a member we'll have weekend membership forms available to fill out. There is a charge for the weekend membership of $5 but the receipt is worth a $15 discount from SCCA when you apply for a full membership. Be aware, it may be a little muddy in the paddock area on Saturday depending on how much rain comes through Friday.

See you all there Saturday Morning!

I'm sitting at work (on my lunch break, ok), writing down a list of the tools and extra stuff I'll need to pack tonight.

Checked my gear out last night. I'm ashamed to admit how long it's been since I put on my helmet, just haven't had much time for the car hobby lately. Still have to fill out the forms, which I've been planning on doing every night this week and still haven't gotten around to it.

I'll have to pick the car up from the shop today also. Drove it to work on Tuesday and when I got home I noticed a bit of leakage coming from the power steering area. I knew I wouldn't have time to fix it, so I had to take it in to have someone else do it for me. Hopefully it'll be ready for pickup after work today. I went ahead and got them to do the pre-inspection checklist while they were at it.

I took tomorrow off from work and will give the car a final going over in the morning. It needs a good cleaning (mostly all the dirt and such on the inside that I don't want flying into my eyes while on the track).

Then load it up around noon, pick up my son from school early, and head up that way. We'll spend the night up that way and meet everyone out at the track Saturday morning around 6:30am or so.

It's supposed to be raining here starting tonight thru Fri night. Not looking forward to packing the truck or loading the car in the rain. Nor the drive up in the rain. Maybe it'll be cleared out earlier than expected.

Oh well, back to work (and more daydreaming about how the weekend will turn out).

For what it's worth, weather.com hourly forecast shows the greatest rain chances tonight through 3pm tomorrow. Starting at 4Pm tomorrow rain chances diminish to 30%, 6PM to 20% and 20% chance continued thru midday Sat. Local forecasters say weather should be good for Friday night football. So hopefully your drive won't be too bad, and things will not be too soggy when we get there Saturday. I should probably put a novice stripe down my back because I am going to be full of NOOBIE questions! Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Why do I keep racing these weird cars?
Why can't I just get a miata and be happy?
