      • LMAO ....I know i get quite intense and vocal at times ...i.e.I have a big mouth that no muzzle is big enough for .Please know guys .....1 and all ....that I only want to do right by ALSCCA with all that I do as your RE.I don't wanna be the" heavy" but unfortunately the job title includes that .I don't always express myself clearly either as if no one noticed but know that I always mean well no matter what .

Sometimes this RE stuff is a drag

        • And sometimes the thing you don't want to hear is what you need to hear most. It's good for any club to have people around who will say what needs to be said.

          • Rookie RE's - you ever hear of the racing jargon of
            Cheap - Fast - Dependable....pick 2
            Well for RE's it's
            Profit.....Fun.....Easy......pick one

            • I was disappointed to miss this event. I was in Atlanta in training for ONE MONTH and that Saturday was my first day back. I look forward to an ALSCCA PDX every year. Seeing that BMP has basically become out of our reach, I hope we have another one at TGPR next year!

I can say that with all confidence because if I_ REALLY_ want to do something and its months away....I am going to find a way to do it ,and then I am going to do it .End of story.
Ricky, you got awful wound up there without considering that it may have just been a bad weekend, in the middle of a time of struggle for the entire sport. Solo attendance has been down also. I think you have drawn waaaaay too big a conclusion from the attendance at this one event.

I went last year, and in fact, the ALSCCA PDX was my very very first ever real live organized track driving experience. LOVED IT.

This year? I did not show up.

Why? Because I didn't want to? Because I don't give a crap? NOPE.

I had to work. That's the only reason. And I knew months in advance, so I knew all along I couldn't be there. Believe me I would have much rather been at the track!

I am sure I am not alone.

So before you go off all dramatic about IF YOU WANT TO BE THERE YOU WILL FIND A WAY, consider that it's a bigger issue than that. Scheduling on Mother's Day weekend increased the likelihood that folks would miss due to travel/family obligations by, oh, what, a bazillion percent? Plus random conflicts for individuals such as myself. Plus it's the worst year ever for most of the entire motorsports community. Come on!

I don't deny that low attendance is a problem that needs to be addressed. Let's make every effort we can to improve attendance for future PDX events. But let's don't throw out the whole program based on a conlusion drawn from the simple fact of low attendance at this particular event.
