Timing and Scoring for an air conditioned seat indoors. The need people to record radio calls and keep track of cars as they cross the start/finish line. (Tapers?)
Chuck Schultz might need some help with the sound control?
Registration might be looking for a helping hand on Friday evening and Saturday Morning.Last edited by JohnW8; 08-10-2015, 02:21 PM.John W8

That's the logger, making the official race log with time, car number and color, flag condition, and basics of radio communication. It's always nice to have more than one person on this job, in case somebody misses a detail. This is actually a Flagging and Communications job, and the current SEDiv DA for F&C wants you to have at least some experience in the tower before he's likely to upgrade someone to a National license.Originally posted by JohnW8 View Postair conditioned seat indoors. The need people to record radio callsCorrect, tapers record car numbers as they cross the line. Ideally, at least 3 people are running tapes, in case somebody misses a car. Also, somebody should be keeping a lap chart (with the assistance of an additional taper) if possible. These are the scoring part of Timing and Scoring. Also, there has to be somebody to set up and run the computers (which do the Timing,) compile and print results, audit tapes, and probably some other duties I don't know about. These folks usually have the best snacks, too.Originally posted by JohnW8 View Postkeep track of cars as they cross the start/finish line. (Tapers?)This is an outside job, with an EZ-up and/or your car for shelter. I'd really like two helpers, but one would make a significant difference. This is mainly administrative, filling out forms all day, but with a nice view of the back straight near the museum, with just the ARMCO barrier and a hedge between you and the cars. I'll provide ear plugs if you don't have your own.Originally posted by JohnW8 View PostChuck Schultz might need some help with the sound control? This is probably true, and it's an inside, air conditioned job. Good people skills are important, here, dealing with lines of people, stupid questions, etc.Originally posted by JohnW8 View PostRegistration might be looking for a helping hand on Friday evening and Saturday Morning.Last edited by chuck schultz; 08-10-2015, 05:59 PM.Chuck Schultz

I don't know how many people are required for t&s, but for those able please be aware we need many more folks to work out in the weather than in the air conditioned tower. Sound has an EZUP, as do most assignments, and the corner stations are covered, so, while it can get hot, at least we are not standing in the sun. We need folks in all the positions to adequately conduct the event, and every corner worker we can get has a direct financial benefit by avoiding hiring a flagged.Rod H

T&S has 9 people signed up. Registration has 5.
They are looking good and we can live with those numbers.
We have 3 "Whatever" folks. One could be transferred to sound.
Tech has 2 people - they are short.
F&C is short and we can use another 12 people there.
Grid is BAD. We do not have a licensed Grid person to be the Grid Chief. We are way short there.
Bottom Line: We need Grid, Tech, F&C workers.
We need someone to be the Worker Chief to worry about this aspect of planning.Craig Farr

We still need a few more people to help out pushing cars on the scales in impound. They will be responsible for getting the drivers a cold towel and water then pushing the car onto and off the scales and into the impound area. 4-5 people would make it really easy work.
We need your support. Please.
I also need a couple of folks to come and help Ricky get folks moved into the paddock on Friday afternoon. Paddock opens at 3:00pm you will be needed until 7 or 8:00pm.
Thanks!John W8
