What time do we need to show up as workers? And where do we go? I've never been to this track, and I've never been a worker before lol.

You'll need to be at the track at 7:00 am for the workers meeting. First car off is hopefully at 8:00am. Don;t worry about never being a corner worker, I'll put you with an experienced person for some on the job training.

Talladega Gran Prix Raceway is located at
      46 Pilgrim Lane
      Munford, AL 36268-7290
      (256) 493-0302

Directions are from The TGPR website

      From Atlanta
Take I-20 to exit 185 (Oxford) and travel South on Highway 21 for approximately 13 miles. TGPR is on the left. Look for the silo which is the control tower.

      From Birmingham
Take I-20 to exit 173 (Eastaboga), also known as the Stuckey's exit. Head South on Highway 398 approximately one quarter mile. Take a sharp left immediately past the Shell station on the left onto Highway 399. Bear to the left to remain on 399. The road to the immediate right as you make the turn is Highway 005. It will get you to TGPR but it takes longer. Stay on Highway 399 until it dead ends into Highway 21 (approximately 7.5 miles). Take a left onto Highway 21 for 2.5 miles. TGPR is on the right. Look for the silo which is the control tower.

I can't make promises but I've been playing around with the schedule for the run groups for this weekends Time trial event and if we are on time and have no issues to deal with the worker run group at the end of the day could be 45 minutes on Saturday and 30 minutes on Sunday.

Pretty good amount of track time for just working a corner for a couple of days.

(Workers cars will need the once over by a tech inspector before being allowed on track.)

Thanks to everyone who has stepped up to cover a corner at the Time Trial Event. We'll have a good time. Be at the track at 7:00am to get situated. Check in at registration and fill out weekend membership forms in needed. We'll have a worker meeting at 7:30am. Be sure to bring some sun screen and something to drink and maybe something to snack on between groups. You should wear white clothes so the drivers don't confuse your bright red tshirt with a red flag and stop on course. Long pants are a must and a long sleeve shirt is recommended. A hat provides some shade in case the ezups aren't available.

Long story short, bring stuff to make yourself comfortable and safe. Lunch is on the club and the track time at the end of the day is worth working for. We're throwing in a free rallycross or Autocross for each day you work at any regular season event at TVR or ALSCCA.

              See you then!

We had what may be the best crew I've ever seen at this event working corners, yesterday. I hope they all come back, because I had a really easy day, yesterday, in the tower.

With that said, we could still use another hand or three. If you were thinking about coming to help, today, please do. Free lunch, a coupla laps to look at the track from the driver's point of view, and a free RallyCross/Solo entry - what a deal!

This was my first time working, and it was awesome. The worker incentives are really very worth it...the free track time, and the free Solo/RallyCross entries...all that just to sit as close to the racing as possible without being in the car and wave some flags at the drivers, while getting all the sun you could ever want? Yeah, I'm doing that more often.
