  • Re: 2011 ALSCCA/TVR TT Event 3/19-20/2011

Here's the deal... We need workers for this event and we can offer you free lunch for both days, door prizes and some track time at the end of each day. PLUS you get the opportunity to help YOUR club provide some peace of mind to the drivers that if there are any issues on track that they will be taken care of.

Driving race cars is great and I love the feeling of speeding around the track but I know that without the corner workers I am at a much greater risk of injury to myself as well as those around me. The Corner workers aren't just standing there getting too much sun, they are providing a service that is crucial to the running of the event and the safety of the drivers. Once you work a corner at an event it gets into your blood and you find yourself volunteering at Road Atlanta and Barbers and Nashville and getting more involved. Too often folks say they just want to drive and not do any thing else but I've said it for years.. without corner worker these events WILL NOT take place.

So far I have 2 people signed up to work the event. I could use 20. I'd settle for 15

Do the math. Step up and support the club.

Your help is needed. Registration for Workers at:
SCCA - Tennessee Valley Region on Saturday, March 19, 2011 - Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Talladega Gran Prix Raceway, Munford, AL - Trial Championship Event, TT School and Club Trials at Talladega Gran Prix Raceway! 2011 should prove to be an exciting and full season of Time Trial Events. Whether its full Time Trials or the more ...

    Thanks

    Positions Needed for Event:

This is always a fun event to work - a great laid-back event with lots of time to learn a Club Racing specialty, such as Flagging and Communications, without the pressure of a bigger event.

If I weren't planning on entering the event, I'd be on a corner or in the tower. Sign up and give it a try. You'll like it, and the event chair and the stewards will feel a lot better knowing you're coming.

What's it take to be an announcer?
        M. Cholewa

Because they heard I liked my name, so they put my name as my name so I could have my name in my name... all the time.

Make announcements for 2 days to the paddock regarding run groups, "Attention in the PAddock! Group 1 cars to grid Group 2 car to Pregrid" running commentary on car on course. "Wow look at how fast Wally is spinning coming out of turn 2, he really mowed the grass there!" etc., etc.

Here's a better question, What position does our region need filled, that can go on to a national certification?

I'll sign up to be your Communications man, if that's acceptable.

Chuck, if you want to meet up some time and go over the finer details, I would enjoy that.

ARGH! I'm on equine critical care that weekend. There's no way I could make that work, since I'll have to be there on the weekends... :-/

Are there any worker positions that can be filled by participants?

Unfortunately, there wouldn't be enough time to swap out workers between run groups
