Miata Upper Ball Joint Boots

I know there are a few Miata experts around...

Has anyone purchased and installed upper ball joints boots recently?

I just received a set today from Mazda. They look too small, more like a tie rod boot. I double-checked the part number in the catalog and crash manual to confirm that the number is correct. Also, there is a metal ring molded into the rubber with no large (external) metal ring. This makes them look even more like a tie-rod boot.

Any similar experiences?

Call Marshall at Med Center Mazda.

The part number I came up with is mazda # 902-270 fits 90-05 models.If thats the part you got just knock the joint loose and put the boot on.

Was too simple!!!
One tap with a hammer and chisel to remove.
Less than a minute to press on with a 32mm socket.

The threads on Miata.net make it seem like a lot of work.

I have learned over the past several years that what ever they say on the intertubes divide by 5 and you have a closer estimate on time. Miata net say 6-8 hours for a clutch and we all know that ain't so.
