Ive never really properly cornerweighted my car due to the lack of equipment. Wherever in birmingham this takes place ...will there be an adequate supply of tools to show up and do it or would one need to bring his wrenches?

BTW typically the scales used at the club race are usually brought by Bill and Will Perry. Not sure if they own them or just transport them but I am pretty sure they are not SEDiv equipment . I know from the SEDiv meetings that Ive attended that supposedly according to the SEDiv treasurers report ... a set of scales have been being depreciated for years but no one seems to know who possesses them .
At any rate ...I commend the board for doing what they have had to do to head in the direction of racing with less dependence on other regions resources.

Also, I'm planning to attend the next Autocross and would like to have a car weighed. No corner weighting needed ... just a weight.Matt W.

Hey Rich, we've had the scales now for 2 years and it's been made clear that any club race impound and/or tech doesn't want to use them at Barber. If you want Atlanta's scales, then make sure they are transported and accounted for. Last year (2014)everyone left tech, cleared out there stuff and just left the scales. We had to figure out what to do with them and it wasn't pretty. I don't even know if atlanta is even in possession of them now or if they are in someone's garage somewhere.Originally posted by Tech-Guy View PostIndividual wheel weight scales do not work well for a race impound because of the time required to set the track and wheelbase for each and every car that comes to tech. If I am running tech at the Barber race I will expect the Atlanta scales.Last edited by e30Racer; 01-24-2015, 01:20 PM.Mark K

Mark K please quit trying to bring up a subject that was dealt with - there was a communication let down that had the usual tech guy at home and not at the event to take care of the situation. It was dealt with that afternoon and Atlanta Region got there scales back.
Here is a plan of action - those of you who want this to function at a RR need to make sure that the scales are such that any size car width wise can drive up and get front axles weighed then rear axle OR someway multiple length -width cars can easily drive up and weigh the car imagine 15 cars come up at once and must be weighed and off the scales before the next race is finished.
Now imagine you have enough workers to work this area and not have to have Sue Rothel have to push a race car off the scales.....work on that.Mark Rothermel
