Forum will no longer be utilized!

After facing many challenges with utilization of this forum for many years, the board voted on the evening of 1/12/2026 to stop use of the forum in favor of the modern, more effective means.

Most of our general club organization will now be coordinated via Discord and results from our events along with schedules and announcements will be hosted on our main alscca.net webpage.

What does this mean for the old forum? Well, in short we are going to stop using it. This has been reviewed several times in the past few years, and there has been a desire for some of more tenured members of the club to have the historic content preserved. In an effort to preserve this content, it was discovered that we could not simply export the content to be placed in a modern website. This forum will now become an archive only forum and will not be monitored. If you wish to preserve any of the content, this is your time to search the pages to find it. There is no promise that this content will remain available forever with the fragile nature of this forum.

Atlanta had an antenna setup this past weekend and it didn't help them. Someone hit the box, antenna, etc at the finish. It ripped the wire going from the unit to the external antenna. They had to bring out a backup wireless transmitter they had to get the event back going.

We already use remote transmitters for the lights. We can't do much to push those farther. We can upgraded the receiving end though. That won't change the light setup.

I know its hard to swallow (the thought of the lights getting hit), but we have had very few timing issues this year, and that is probably put down to the wired system. We have the Timing Board working now without problems. I really think that we don't have that many problems with the timing lights being in "cars reach" most of the time. I think we have done pretty well with the system as it is now, so no need to mess with it. We can do a whole bunch to mess up something that works!!!

We don't want to come across like it wasn't a potentially expensive mistake, for the entrant as well as the club.
I think everyone knows what a big deal this could have been. But that never stops anyone from watching all the "Fail" videos on youtube. At the end of the day, it was fine so this is just pure entertainment. Watch it for what it is and nothing more....

It's a perception thing. "Watch Rob narrowly miss writing a $1000 check" could have been a good way to make fun of our friend's "fail" and make sure everyone who comes across the post understands the weight of the matter.

                That makes sense.
