Glad to see ya coming back to play. I nearly bought an RX8, but my economical personality was dominant that day. But one out of 2 priorities (Yellow, but not so fast) isn't bad. Welcome back Eric!

You will like it. Nordic Green was only offered in 2004. Couple of forums you should spend some time reading:
www.rx8web.com and www.rx8club.com
Web is laid back, a little more adult. Read the "Do you know" thread.
Club is filled with a lot of kids(read as wanting to install 20" wheels and $10k stereo systems) and a lot of autocrossers. Jason Isley, Ron Bauer, Dennis Sparks and others have been known to hang out in the competition area. Lots of good info in there.
If you didn't buy it from a Mazda dealer, get by a friendly one and make sure the latest pcm flash is done. Drive it like you stole it to keep it healthy.
Koni shocks, urethane sway bar bushings, R comps should put you in Mikes mirrors every time and maybe Mike will be in your mirrors every now and then. ( he, he he,) just kidding Mike.
Forgot to add, keep at least one dozen plastic clips for holding the fender liners, splash pan, etc in place. I used to knock several out when nailing cones at events. You will need them unless you are clean EVERY run.Last edited by pballance; 12-15-2008, 10:45 AM.

Thanks! Clay, I just hope gas doesn't go back to $4/gal.
and pballance, thanks for the tips. I have been lurking at rx8club for a while. I tried to join, but was rejected for some reason. I am sure it was technical, but they might have cross checked here and the Huntsville forum and that had to hurt my chances. I think being a member of Miata.net for so long was what killed me though...
As for making clean runs, Alan Branch taught me to drive, so clean runs are not in my skill set...Eric Edwards

So you're the goober that screwed up the economy. Buy a car - TODAY!!! (Your banker will thank you, your friends will envy you, and your nation will be indebted to you.)Originally posted by OverDrive418 View Post...I'm saving up for one now as a matter of fact, but I'm paying cash outright for mine. I'm never doing car payments again. If it takes 10 years to save enough to get one so be it...
Eric, I look forward to seeing you terrorize some 15 and 16 year old kids with that thing!
I happy for you that you got one sooner than you expected because "Life is too short to drive boring cars"! Nice ride!!!Last edited by ThumbsUp; 12-16-2008, 12:24 PM.1 part MacGyver, 1 part Stephen Hawking, 1 part Jed Clampett, 1 part Bart Simpson
