  • ALSCCA 60 years party?

I noticed "Est. 1952" on my ALSCCA mug from this weekend. If my math is right, that would mean the club is turning 60 at some point this year. Neat!

Cookout/Cruise in at Oak Mountain State Park announced via the announce list to get full club coverage with RSVP. Bring a covered dish and the club buys and grills the meat?

Pavillion rental for a day is $150.00. Pavillion is large enough for up to 150 people.

We could just show up at the south trailhead and take it over, Over the last 4 weekends I haven't seen anyone using it.

This will give us a GREAT opportunity to get our foot in the door and ask about running a hillclimb up Peavine Falls Rd!!!!

Ooo I wouldn't want to go out there after a long day of autoxing. I thought maybe a Saturday or Sunday all by itself.

I'm down. Agreed on the standalone date. The logistics alone would be a pain, much less the fatigue of a day full of sun and driving. The day before/after would work though!

I've been going every weekend lately, so I'll keep an eye out for which days seem to be more heavily populated. If this week was any sign, sunday's are MUCH more crowded than saturdays. But the park didn't really start to fill up until the early afternoon, so if we set a start time of about 11 (get the grills going) it should be good for everyone.

Just remind people to bring the 3 bucks to get in the gate. I've got a family pass so if anyone wants to ride with me (and maybe has a bike) I can fit two more people + bikes and you wont have to pay.

WOO BBQ PARTY. Nothing tastes as good as hot food off a grill after a bike ride... except maybe beer (which we might need to figure something out for since you're technically not allowed alcohol at a fair amount of sites around the park).

we should totally have shirts made. and everyone wear them. like the families do for memorial day and labor day family reunions.
