I actually like the fit of the loaners the club has, although I'd like to own my own. It might keep Wally out of trouble! I wear 'corrective coke bottle lenses' so a full face model is not appropriate. Anyone know what brand those are, and where is the best place to pick one up on a budget?
Thanks.

Pyrotect carbon fiber helmets can be found on the interweb for 550ish. That would be a SA racing full face with top air. Chuck
And you can get a Pytrotect open face SA2010 for about 179. www.DiscoveryParts.com always has good deals on helmets and they give an SCCA discount if you order by phone (probably by web too but I don't know the discount code).
Also, if you are running a car with an airbag you need an open face helmet!
Flashy bling bling that doesn't make ya go any faster. We can buy some vinyl and wrap your helmet in CF if you'd like
Also, I wear contacts almost solely to auto events so I can wear my helmet and not be bothered with my glasses. It makes a big difference, but I'm much happier with the full face helmet as it has allowed me to go for rides in open cockpit cars with no fenders, motorcycles, and other things where rocks fly at your face.
Not sure what brand we bought for the club, but we can look at the first race and figure it out.

Because they heard I liked my name, so they put my name as my name so I could have my name in my name... all the time.
I don't like it because it looks cool. I like it because it's so freaking light! It's like 1/3 the weight of most other helmets. Feels like a heavy hat, at the most.
