I know it'll be a few weeks away, but I think we should have a donations drive at the next couple of events (rallyx/autox). Money, clothes, whatever. Try and find a couple of families like the ones Cholewa knows. Do as much as we can for our fellow racers/car enthusiasts!!!

Also, if you guys see any decent vehicles up for sale soon that are family-esque (sedans) let me know. I know Robert's fiancee was in a newer civic, and he's looking for a rwd volvo or e30 or something. But for the time being anything with 4 doors will be good to keep an eye out on.Last edited by Cholewa; 04-28-2011, 02:13 PM.M. Cholewa

Cholewa could we send you a walmart gift card to give to them?? That way they can get what they need. If so just pm me your address and I'll get it in the mail to ya.
Also the donation drive sounds great, I was just thinking about that before I got on here.Sara {Novice Chief} SM 11

RE: Gardendale
That monster tornado passed through Fultondale and did quite a bit of damage. Gardendale/Morris/Kimberly was fortunate to be between that storm and the ones that went through Hayden/Hanceville/etc.
BTW, the damage to the power system is dramatic. I suggest doing what you can to plan for days without power, even though our crews always perform heroically during times like these. There have been about 100,000 customers restored, but 330,000 more to go in Alabama alone.Rod H

About the power situation ... normally, in a storm damage situation the local power company can ask for assistance from other nearby companies to restore power more quickly. Since this storm had such a long path of damage that crossed several states, many of the crews that Alabama Power would call on are repairing their own systems. So, this may take a little longer as Rod stated.Matt W.

We are physically OK. We took a hard hit in Fultondale. 17 days later still no phone or internet. Big holes in the roof, 25 trees down in my yard, 2011 Nissan Juke smashed up, the old 88 Integra took a lick but is still driveable, fence smashed up in several places. We were 8 days without power. We are just thankful to be alive. Some day soon I may be able to post some pics. Our hearts go out to everyone that had damage, was injured, or worse...."I'm not as think as you slow I am"
