It just seems like the helmet doesn't even come down halfway past his cheek when it should go down to his jaw.

I have a similar issue with my helmet. I think the only solution would be to get a helmet with a nice pad on the chin strap. Or, I'm sure that different manufacturers have different positioning for the straps. Try them on till once feels better.

It does come down when I convince him to wear it correctly

OMG here we go with the "relaxed fit" conversation. LOL

Discovery has always been very accomodating to me on stuff that just didn't work out . They are always more than willing to take back a resellable item from me it it didn't work out . Pegasus is also .

Before we go there, let's get back on topic Not sure if my friend will mail order or not, but I found some deals on HJC helmets at a motorcycle shop called denniskirk.com. They have the HJC CL-31, a m2005 open face, for $44, and quite a few others under $100. They even have a way to sort helmets by rating but some are just called "Snell" instead of Snell 2005

Beeee careful, you might just get what yer payin for, I'm jus sayin'- If your intent is to buy on price, then okay. But if you want to protect your brain, well ......... get something reputable.

                Rod,
I forget the name of the place but I bought my helmet about 2 blocks south of First Baptist Church in Gardendale. At the time it was the best price, same as mail order. They have a few to try on right there. Sorry I cannot remember their name and give them a plug.
                I liked working with them.

Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don't want to have to restart my collection ...... again.

David...I know where you're talking about but have never been there. I need to drive by on the way to work tomorrow & see if they are still there. I'm personally not in the market, but I believe the helmet I mentioned may be the same one the club just bought for loaners.

Yeah, Ricky, I know. It's their webpage that's screwy by listing some only as Snell. I would recommend anyone looking at one so listed to confirm with them before buying.

I bought mine & Zac's helmets last year, both SA2005

If the helmet passes the required test to be rated SAXXXX then the 40 dollar one is just as safe as the 400 dollar one. It just might not be as comfortable, but when it comes to an autocross where it's only on for 2 minutes at a time....

someone mentioned Discovery Parts in Atlanta , Ron comes to Barbers from time to time for DE's , PCA, PBOC, ect. you may call him and check to see when he is coming down, tell him what your looking for, I'm sure he would bring down different sizes for you to try. Different brands do fit different head shapes better than others! I always have liked Bell, wanted one of there Hybrids,so painful I could not wear it in any size, ended up bying a G Force, fit better. just a tought!
