Looking at the sat view, there are several dirt roads/driveways with structures on them, especially around the junction with County highway 637. Don't know if they're barns, cabins, or something else.

Also, we had some minor issues dealing with the national forest folks back when we were running the Cherokee Trails rally, a few years ago. They were worried about conserving nature, and doing a very good job of it.

Now that I think about it, there was some logging going on in that area in January. There were tracks where they'd skidded some logs on that road.

I have always thought there had to be some good roads in Talladega around Cheaha. I know that many of the roads aren't really usable or have poor pavement, but we definitely need to do some recon out there.

I think back in the 70's and 80's they used to hold Stage Rally's in the Talladega Nat'l forest actually. Now I understand that was a long time ago and things are different now, but just saying. I think we have some support with SEDIV now that we have successfully completed the Chasing the Dragon hillclimb in a national forest and the cooperation between SEDIV and the Park Rangers and such might help in getting a site if we find one we like in Talladega.

      Thanks Nick!

That is an awesome road to drive but there are houses and such and I think that road is kind of busy. I've been up and down it a lot, would be awesome for a hill climb but not sure what the road condition is lately. C and I may take a drive up there this weekend to scope things out.

Thats a shame about Crow, maybe we can get it back next year....

The current Jackson Cty Commission will be out of office after the November elections. We are going to meet with the new Commissioners after the elections and present Crow Mtn 2013 to them. More updates after that.
