Forum will no longer be utilized!
After facing many challenges with utilization of this forum for many years, the board voted on the evening of 1/12/2026 to stop use of the forum in favor of the modern, more effective means.
Most of our general club organization will now be coordinated via Discord and results from our events along with schedules and announcements will be hosted on our main alscca.net webpage.
What does this mean for the old forum? Well, in short we are going to stop using it. This has been reviewed several times in the past few years, and there has been a desire for some of more tenured members of the club to have the historic content preserved. In an effort to preserve this content, it was discovered that we could not simply export the content to be placed in a modern website. This forum will now become an archive only forum and will not be monitored. If you wish to preserve any of the content, this is your time to search the pages to find it. There is no promise that this content will remain available forever with the fragile nature of this forum.

Ok, as discussed in the February meeting, I can be the flag and communications chief for the event. We are supposed to be extremely busy at work over the next weekends up until the 4th of July shutdown, but I will take time off to support the event.
I look forward to seeing everyone there.

Yes, I did sign up earlier to work, learn about F&C, watch cars, and eat free lunch, but then you posted this:
Which is what I was asking about.Originally posted by JohnW8 View Postand some track time at the end of each dayErik B.
Why do I keep racing these weird cars?
Why can't I just get a miata and be happy?

We get a few laps at the end of the day ... assuming a BMW doesn't loop and die in the chicanes ... =P. There was no extra paperwork that I remember.Matt W.

Craig is working on the scheduling to allow some time at EOD for teh workers to get some laps. The problem with worker laps is doing them at lunch. Since all the emergency personnel are "off the clock" we cannot have cars on course without the appropriate emergency personnel.Originally posted by ThumbsUp View PostHas this been cleared with TGPR? As I recall, they did not allow this last year or were at least very reluctant.John W8

This is a great event to learn about working corners, in a relatively low-key environment. There are great sight lines from the tower, so it's easy to help folks along.
After working this event, you will feel much more confident about helping at Barber, Nashville, Road Atlanta or Crow Mountain.
Just be careful - you might get hooked.
I love this stuff!Chuck Schultz

I learned a lot when I helped out last year ... about flagging, communications and how events work in general. Definitely a positive experience. 100% worth it to go.Matt W.
