A Quick Goolge search found a bunch of regional airports --- Shelby County, St Clair, Bessemer. Of these, the Bessemer Airport looks to have a large paved area where they park planes ....

1) There may be some security concerns in this post 9/11 government
2) I don't know anything about airports (time of use etc)

But, that would be some sweet asphalt.....

Other Thoughts -- Briarwood Presbyterian seems to have a massive church parking lot

There is a High School and a Commercial Property on Lakeshore that might work (Across from Samford) --- not the mall.

Anyone have connections or other thoughts?

Sorry I missed it...

I wasn't flagging as Evan said. I think the policy for whatever comes out of Evans mouth regarding me should be "It's always gonna be wrong!" . I was working at Road Atlanta though so at least some of it was right.

Sounds like it was another great event. I have not given up on my search for an alternative lot and I am persueing something that would be better than perfect. I don't want to mention it on here just yet, but know that I am trying to pull this off.
