Forum will no longer be utilized!

After facing many challenges with utilization of this forum for many years, the board voted on the evening of 1/12/2026 to stop use of the forum in favor of the modern, more effective means.

Most of our general club organization will now be coordinated via Discord and results from our events along with schedules and announcements will be hosted on our main alscca.net webpage.

What does this mean for the old forum? Well, in short we are going to stop using it. This has been reviewed several times in the past few years, and there has been a desire for some of more tenured members of the club to have the historic content preserved. In an effort to preserve this content, it was discovered that we could not simply export the content to be placed in a modern website. This forum will now become an archive only forum and will not be monitored. If you wish to preserve any of the content, this is your time to search the pages to find it. There is no promise that this content will remain available forever with the fragile nature of this forum.

  • When it rains for 5/24 event (tomorrow)

To keep the course marked, it will be necessary to use some kind of grease pens or construction crayons like they use in Huntsville autocrosses to keep pavement marked for cone placement thru the event. Sheet rock is useless in the rain. Any recommendations or can someone pick up some to mark the course? Thanks

A couple of years ago (it's been that long since we have had a rainy autocross) you doubled the key cones. If the course is simple enough that will work.

I'm curious. What happens if both cones are hit? Not that anyone would get that far out of shape going through a feature in the rain.

I remember that now. It is not as good as marking course, but best I could come up with with what was there. Mike, where did you get the markers and what kind were they?

Well, marks from these would be hard to see - http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?actio...501&lpage=none

This other place even sells 'em in hot pink! Too bad they aren't local. - http://www.cspoutdoors.com/dixlumcray.html

They are construction crayons. You can get boxes at Home Depot or Lowes. Isn't there one of them near Hooters?

It's a Lowes, and should be open at 6. Is BRC ok with the more permanent markings?

Why do I keep racing these weird cars?
Why can't I just get a miata and be happy?

If you can't make marks or double cone, make every gate a uniform width - say 8 paces wide.

I think it was an EVO that dominated the day

Great course Clay, simple but fun. Kudos to the workers that were out there at 6:30AM making it happen. Also thanks to Pop for helping get the timing lights working again, it's members like you that make the club what it is.
