I thought stock class was the course sweepers.
Seriously, we should rotate the run orders just for variety. I'd gladly drive in the first run group throughout the hot months for the better grip and lower temps of the morning anyway.

Lets see. I've designed 1 course and helped set up two courses in the 5 years that i have been here. I didn't race in the first points event of the year and that is the ONLY course that I have EVER done a drive through on in this region. Even if I had raced it was a Grand Marquis!

ERIC normally has his facts straight before engaging the frontal cranial flappy thing, but this time he is COMPLETELY WRONG.

      Have several nice days.

I liked the course because it was the most excercise I've gotten in a month! Reminded me how nice a fast steering rack is and that I'm spoiled by my car in that regard. Of course not having run in about a year doesn't help that either. Ooops.

Actually, probably about a 1/3 of the features could've been dropped and that would've opened the flow. Outside of that, I thought it was one helluva fun course. Point and shoot!

As for off-camber turns... I have to agree with Ervin, I don't think there is really anyway to avoid them when running the course counter-clockwise. As Chris Warren suggested, maybe having run it clockwise since the grade tends to be gentler up top as opposed to the bottom section.

I agree with Cholewa - I've run in the first run group at all but 2 events I've ever been to at BRC, and it's usually not a problem, but this time we definitely got cold pavement. I'm so thankful that John told me I could drop my tire pressures to 25psi because before that I felt like I was driving on ice!

Anyway, about the course - The first part did seem a little busy, and I did feel like I had to wrestle with my fwd a bit, but during the fun runs (as usual) I felt like I figured the course out (and got a little heat in my tires) and it was a lot of fun! The end was my favorite, although I did feel like some of the turns were a little too much (the crossover after the offset slalom and the corner after the long straight)... it's hard to make those in a fwd without losing all of your power. But I liked the change of pace - I felt like it was different and probably improved my driving due to the technicality of the course. Now if the weather could have just been 75 degrees instead of 44...

I'd be curious to know what you thought about the course driving my RWD on street tires compared to your FWD car on slicks? Analyze and discuss!

I was 1.6ish quicker in the Mini than the Porsche. I really like both cars ALOT! If I could have gotten a few more runs in the 911 I have no doubt at all that a deep 61 was available, maybe even a 60 and some change. Yeah, the steering is HEAVY but the car is so so so planted. Well, so is the MIni on the 3 Hoosier 1 710 combo it had on it, lol.

I liked this course. Fast straight sections make me lazy. I had to really focus on my braking zones and taking the correct line for once. Apparently RX-7s can understeer, who knew?

It was painful watching people plow the same cones every run. I focused on braking in time and swinging out, and there was no problem taking those turns.

I probably improved my driving skill more Sunday than in the past few event combined. zzzz

I can't be wrong, You read it on the Internet. It Must be True.

Personally I don't have a problem Sean, but SOME people are talking about charging you for Fun Runs because you made so many.

I would hate for you to get the reputation as the guy who takes extra runs before the event. No, I'd never want SEAN YODER to get that reputation.

In the summer the early morning workers will get milder weather, so thats a plus for them. I'm not worried about pavement warmth too much, my tires don't much care. I'd just like for once, to be able to wake up before i have to concentrate, and maybe get some friends to come out and ride along. It's hard to get people out before 11:30.

Sorry I forgot, I had to get back to Auburn the first half of the year for a meeting so I ran in the first run group for about 5 events whether GS was running first or not. But at a majority of events the stock classes run first, at least since I've been running.

I know one group that had this as official policy. It makes no sense, now, though, with R-comps so popular. Now the street tire classes should be sweeping the course.
