But- Lyle and John are absolutely the strongest 'dark horse' picks for this event, coming in under the radar. John+Lyle+Old Yeller+255s will be a surprise to many this weekend!
Not Darren Disimo's car. Darren Darby.

      I feel the love

I guess I'll have to invest in a dual membership.....

Now I have some street tires to run at BRC. Watch out Choweta, Chewbaka, and any Chew toys...

I don't see a single autox, rallyx, or TT scheduled for 9/19. Nationals are scheduled for the week of 9/8-11.

What could possibly be going on that day? <sarcasm off>

                Nice!
JW would have them by several tenths if he'd get clean!

The bad news is all Clay and James. Didn't see their names on the results. Called them and as it turns out Clay and James made it to the Test and Tune, ran strong, then had to come all the way back home due to work.

That old Datsun has kicked mine more than once over the years.

You did good John. Keep digging Lyle. It's not the easiest thing to jump into someone else's car and go fast. You were getting faster with each run.

Hey what a great weekend! I went to the tour with the intentions on comparing myself to some of the best drivers in the country and this year was no exception. Fantastic competition, great course, nearly perfect weather. I had a good time and as Darryl said I coned away a first place on Saturday in a car that was easily 300lbs heavier than the top runners. I learn from these events so, I have some more work to do to the car as well as myself. Lyle and I tried to keep the heat in the tires but I think maybe we got them a tick too hot as the 3rd runs were getting kinda slippery. Note where the cones were hit. It felt good hearing your name announced at the top of the standings then a few cars go by and you hear your name down in 6th. Sunday was nearly a repeat of Saturday. Each run was faster than the one before. Then Brian Johns did a what looked like a 11second run on the 46 second course. He was hooked up and flying! His wife Tara also was the fastest in CSPL but her time was even faster than the CSP class on Saturday. Lyle wasn't having a good time. He couldn't seem to get comfortable with the event and drove like the cone would explode on contact. He hit no cones all weekend. Granted the gates were huge and the course was very fast but he just couldn't find the edge on the car and use it. His time improved each run but he just wouldn't relax and have fun. He beat himself up over it for the ride home. The biggest bummer of the weekend was Clay and James having to head back to Bham after the TnT due to work. Clay's was the car to beat in HStock but work forced that win for another time. Thanks for the words of encouragement from Clay McCool, Sean and Ron Ittner and the Cavanaugh's. This group is a family and I'm glad to be part of it.
