Im not upset at all, lol. I explained why that's all.

Going right also allowed you to get further drivers left before the turn in point of the sweeper. the way the gate was set up after the slalom but before the entry to the sweeper if you went left and carried alot of speed you really didnt have a chance to get the car all the way left in order to make the right hand entry smoothly.

It did work either way. It just depends on where you wanted to give up the speed. I tend to drive a smooth line and for me right was better.

I do like the new front sway bar on the 350Z. Josh hit a bunch of cones because it turns in a lot quicker now and that gave him fits. I had to tell him to slow down and get the feel of the car before we can work on speed. Two more T&Ts in Nashville and Huntsville then an autocross event before Dixie should get us used to the handling and back up to speed.

B Stock will be interesting this year with Eric doing so well the first time out. He looks very good in the RX-8.

I don't know how a stock mini on street tires handles, but for my underpowered (nearly stock motor) FWD with suspension and 235 stickies, left was faster. I don't have the grunt to get up that hill regardless of the line. I tried downshifting on one attempt, but my clutch wasn't up to the job. I worked #5 and noticed a lot of people trying both sides, which is great! It was an excellent course design that could work either way, but made you experiment.

Well to offer an unexperienced drivers' thoughts, I went right of the first cone in the first slalom, every time-except for once. When I went left, I did feel like that I was in a worse situation for the sweeper.

Yoder-I'm gonna have to agree with you, I think that it was faster, at least in my car. I never really tried going all that far left for the sweeper, but I feel like with the way the car was going in that corner-I could of went as far left as I needed too. This does give you a better driving line for the sweeper.

Because it gave you an even WORSE line into the sweeper, making it a tighter and LONGER turn to get up the hill.
I tried both ways through that second slalom, and before the event I was CERTAIN that going right of the first cone would be faster. I was WRONG. Going to the right was a momentum killer for me. If I turned around the backside of that first cone correctly on the left side, I could almost straighten out the sweeper, making it more of a 90 degree corner. I hit it perfectly during that 69.xx run. You know it's a good element when people argu... um, debate it like this

lyle and i went left... that's my input. i thought it was a better line until we corded the tires. then there wasn't a good line anymore because the car didnt turn....

there is a difference between chording a tire and what happened to those tires. That was nuts! I dont think I've seen that happen without a big bang at the end of it.

thats what I am tryin to say yoder, the way you said to go was almost a hairpin, where as going left made it a 90, actually more like a 120

also ccongratualtions on making quite possibly the most awkward gate I have ever had the dipleasure of running through, it was so awkard that 80% of the people just skipped that gate entirely, I am talking of course about the gate before the million mile slalom

Wow, well I feel totally lost now...lol. In that case, I don't remember...lol I think I went left though, cause I went right at the first slalom.

                          Thanks for the correction!

And they all DQ'd because of it, lol.

The million mile slalom was more like two seperate slaloms. I really liked the way that turned out to be honest. very fast, rewarded the brave ALOT.

Going right turned that into a smooth arch instead of a drive it in too deep and then kill all forward momentum situation. If you get on the brakes early enough then going left worked fine. It was a case of being able to not drive in too deep when going left that made me want to see newer folks going right and giving up the entry speed in order to take the entry of the sweeper more smoothly and with more speed. I'm done.
