While we are on the subject and before the 2013 schedule. Is ther anyway possible to have the NvS in any other month that isnt above 100 degrees. Maybe october, or early even March? I love helping you guys it but 2 days in the heat is tough

This is a great suggestion. I agree that having it during a weekend that at least has the potential to not be scorching would really be great since we'll all be outside in it for 2 days straight.

If you run the N vs. S event in cooler temps then you lose the advantage of being acclimated to the southern heat.

It would probably be smarter to do earlier in the season, when people have money and tires and are a bit more willing to travel. If you wait until the end of the season, you'll probably lose a fair bit of folks who are just out of cash for fun times, since they've already spent it on car stuff over the course of the season.

Alot of it will have to do with scheduling. I haven't heard from the Hunstville guys about their site issues, and scheduling yet. I think the Chitt's are running it this year, so that will make things smooth for discussions.

We will try to make it the best for everyone in both clubs. The main reason we don't do it in the fall is because Saturdays are very hard to get anyone to do anything besides College Football. So its either going to be summer or late Spring. We don't want to do it real early, because we have new people coming in to the season, and we are usually working things out like classes, Tour events, etc.

Mark C is the slalom chairman once again for TAC. He'll also be the one coordinating the usage of the site for SCCA.

Yep, I talked to Mark Cather the other day. Seems as though they are looking at 11 to 12 events next year. Starting in March and ending in December. Should be a whole lot of scheduling headaches.

Mark and I initiated talks with Oak Mountain Amphitheater today. The entire staff at Pelham Civic complex was fired and all new management has been put in place. They are fully aware that they are not in charge of the parking lot (that is the property of OMA) and they will be working with us to not schedule events over us.

What we have planned for next year should make some people perk up. There's nothing like getting some help on tires at the end of the year!!!!

Looks like we are on track for somewhere between 12 and 13 events.

More information will be coming around the first of the year.

alls I got to say is bring on the 2013 solo season because I now seem to have a car that will make more than 3 runs without blowing up ....and to comment on the original poll...when I got started off in this autox addiction(circa 2005)...the folks to gage your self on were guys like Daniel Hughes, Chris Warren, Wally Lacy, Clay McCool, and of course the mighty Alan Branch and Im sure there are many more but I ran my car ...the same car I got now in GS so I had a great pax but I didnt care...pax has really largely never mattered to me because I have never really gotten very far divisionally or nationally and regionally it jsut dont seem to hold my attention. If I was within 5 seconds of the above mentioned guys raw times ...I went home feeling ok about how I did . Now after 7 years of autox I still base my opinion of my performance based on raw times because I feel that a good driver is going to go fast in just about anything he or she jumps in.
