Forum will no longer be utilized!
After facing many challenges with utilization of this forum for many years, the board voted on the evening of 1/12/2026 to stop use of the forum in favor of the modern, more effective means.
Most of our general club organization will now be coordinated via Discord and results from our events along with schedules and announcements will be hosted on our main alscca.net webpage.
What does this mean for the old forum? Well, in short we are going to stop using it. This has been reviewed several times in the past few years, and there has been a desire for some of more tenured members of the club to have the historic content preserved. In an effort to preserve this content, it was discovered that we could not simply export the content to be placed in a modern website. This forum will now become an archive only forum and will not be monitored. If you wish to preserve any of the content, this is your time to search the pages to find it. There is no promise that this content will remain available forever with the fragile nature of this forum.

Not sure what you mean by this.Originally posted by cjwsrt View PostDo you guys not give both Tire pax and Class pax? I know that in Dothan you get both and it really helps the people who dont have a Street tire class pax higher then just there stock or prepared class.
The way the SCCA runs PAX classes is to append a prefix to the base class (such as BSP). So, TBSP would be a BSP classed car running street tires, competing with other cars on street tires. Using the PAX modifier, this BSP car can run with THS, TCSP, TSSM, etc. The PAX modifier handicaps the "faster" class to balance competition. Raw times are unaffected.
ST classes can't run in the T PAX class because they already have street tires calculated in to their PAX modifier, where other classes have a modifier based on race tires.
A driver is not able to enter more than once, so it's not possible to run in T class and N class or any other PAX class at a single event.
So, that's how we run it. I'm not sure how that compares as I can't really gather much info about classing from your post. John simply said that if you are in TBSP and someone else is in BSP and runs a faster raw time, they also have a better PAX time because you share the same BSP PAX modifier. Adding the "T" doesn't change the PAX, only your class and direct competition.
And yeah ... it's off topic.

Are you thinking of an additional multiplier for those running on street tires? We did that in Huntsville several years ago. If you ran HS on street tires, you'd get the base pax and then an additional 3% for the street tires. The 3% number came from some published results. That's probably less now. Anyway we did this for maybe a year or two.Originally posted by cjwsrt View PostDo you guys not give both Tire pax and Class pax? OUCH!! I did this very thing with my last E30, and to add some more luck on top it was right in the middle of the head on the #4. Had to take the head off. Not a happy camper. Sorry to hear that.Todd Buck

It was the number 3 on and the side of a mountain, with wet muddy grass is not the place to be changing out rocker arms. Pretty much have to take the head off to replace them, unless you have holes cut out in the firewall for easy channeling of the rocker arm guides out the back of the head.Originally posted by White Hot View Post

I was going to say at least your cars are where you live, but I don't think that holds true anymore..Originally posted by kilgojr View PostIt was the number 3 on and the side of a mountain, with wet muddy grass is not the place to be changing out rocker arms.
