Okay, this is very last minute, and details will be coming out as we work them out, but we have an opportunity which I think many people have been asking for and are going to be SUPER PUMPED about......
ALSCCA will be joining PBOC at Barber Motorsports Park on November 19 - 20 to host an autocross, hpde, track day event. PBOC will be in charge of this event, and ALSCCA will be running the autocross. If you are interested in running the HPDE/track day event you will need to get in touch with PBOC. Ricky Ragan will be an instructor for this event, and I know that some of you have run events with PBOC in the past. PBOC is going to be trying out a new format, where they have added autocross to their teaching curriculum for their novices. Several of our Novice instructors will be working this event to teach car control to the PBOC Novice group before they go out on course for the first time. This will all occur on Saturday morning.
That is where our fun begins.....
We will be selling Weekend Passes, and Individual Passes for Saturday (starting around 11:00 am) and Sunday all day long. Prices are currently being worked out, but to give you an idea, the Weekend Pass will be limited in number, around $50 to $75 and will guarantee you 20 to 30 passes around the autocross course, possibly more. We will also allow people to just show up, pay $1 or $2 for one run. And you can run as much as you want.
We will run this event not as a points event, and not even as an "ALSCCA" event. You will not have to work a corner, chase cones, or anything like what we normally do. Basically you show up, do some autocross runs, and go home with less rubber, and a big smile on your face.
As I said, we will be coming up with more details very soon, and price structure is being worked out as we speak.
I will need some people to help out with this event, and we are working out a compensation package for workers. I hope all of you are as excited as Mark, Ricky, and I are about this....
