Anyone know of any? Carly's tiburon is having an issue in first gear and it's driving her crazy.

      6spd manual..

In first it randomly engages the clutch at different points of pedal travel and almost stalls the car.

Does not sound like a transmission problem. Clutch master cylinder maybe? Slave cylinder? Have you checked the fluid?

I haven't yet. Didn't really have the time to get in there.

I'll double check the fluid and bleed the system just in case theres some air in there.

No leaks anywhere, but the fluid looks disgusting (it's like liquid baby shit colored) and I haven't seen too much brake fluid in my life, but i've never seen it clouded like that.

So I guess, in addition to taking that dumb valve/spring out of the slave cyl, I'll flush out the fluid and replace it with some new brake fluid.

If it continues then I'll take it to someone to get a better diagnostic.

So I tried the hyundai forum fix, and it seems like the previous owner already did that. So I flushed out the fluid and put new clean dot3 in there, still does it. It holds power up to redline, and at high rpm shifts, so I'm out of ideas.

Ricky, when's the next saturday that you work?

                        This is good to know.

Cholewa it really sounds like you clutch hydraulics are leaking. I've had slave cylinders leak into their boots and clutch master cylinders leak into the interior of the car. In both cases there are no external signs of leakage.

Well, I took the slave off the car to remove a spring/valve in it, and found it was previously removed. But it was clean as a whistle. I guess I could have a look at the master this weekend.
