Bill's course was top course of the year for me. It flowed really nicely and allowed you some speed as well as braking to get set up for a tight corner hear and there. Well done!

Our next event will be here before we know it so I'll start reminding folks of the last event being our charity event. $25 entry fee across the board, member or not for 4 runs. Then any run after that will cost you $5 or an unwrapped toy for a child, boy or girl. Childrens Harbor will be the beneficiary of the proceeds and Ricky knows the beneficiary of the unwrapped toys. Lets show the kids and their families what generosity ALSCCA has. Come out an play, oh, and tell your friends. Let's make this a big turnout.

That being said ...I visited the height versus track issue with a competitor early in the season who was running a stock CRV in HS.

I called national for a clarification on the rules .This is what I was told......If the vehicle doesnt qualify for a stock class due to high center of gravity issues ,this does not preclude the vehicle from being eligible for steet prepared or modified classes ...it only precludes it from competing in stock form .

The vehicle I see pictured is lowered and has wider wheels .This vehicle can be inspected at tech and approved if it meets the rules for height versus wheel track.I personally dont see an issue with the vehicle pictured .

The plan is to make it out in November. The class we are in is of no concern to us. The plan is to bring a few new drivers in our red (slow) car that have no track time at all. I had to explain to them what an autoX was. We are normally use to running regular street tires. What is a good sticky R compound tire 245/35/19 ?We will use another set on the road and they would be for track use only.
      Thanks>

wider is better, the fattest tire you can fit. hoosier A6's are the stickiest to my knowledge

we were talking about you yesterday, do you have a passenger seat? if so you qualify for SM. bring the slow car... boo, I wanna see this bad boy in person.

Hoosier A6 is the top and the only tire i see in a 19"

kumho v710 would be the second choice ,but I dont see a kumho tire listed bigger than a 18.TOYO would be the 3rd choice ,Falken would be the 4th choice .XP would be the class I would recomend .I am eager to see that beast!!!you might think of trying a more popular wheel diameter.

Thanks for the reply guys. We will bring the orange car next year some time but now it is up on the lift getting a front splitter, full underbody a rear diffuser and lots of other stuff. The biggest thing we want to do now is new driver training and getting use to the SCCA. The slow car is still pretty quick. Down 200HP or so,automatic transmission and 300lb more weight, but still a fun car. And yes we can put a passenger seat in it, I am sure there is one sitting around here somewhere.
            Thanks.

I was just stating the rules... obviously lower wider track would change the outcome of the formula. And it wouldn't be my decision anyway.. I don't have a problem with it.

Its all good Sean.I had to call national earlier in the year about it too.The rule prohibits it from participating in its stock form but not if its modified to comply.
