Forum will no longer be utilized!

After facing many challenges with utilization of this forum for many years, the board voted on the evening of 1/12/2026 to stop use of the forum in favor of the modern, more effective means.

Most of our general club organization will now be coordinated via Discord and results from our events along with schedules and announcements will be hosted on our main alscca.net webpage.

What does this mean for the old forum? Well, in short we are going to stop using it. This has been reviewed several times in the past few years, and there has been a desire for some of more tenured members of the club to have the historic content preserved. In an effort to preserve this content, it was discovered that we could not simply export the content to be placed in a modern website. This forum will now become an archive only forum and will not be monitored. If you wish to preserve any of the content, this is your time to search the pages to find it. There is no promise that this content will remain available forever with the fragile nature of this forum.

As I stated in an earlier post, the passengers who have filled out a weekend membership form will have their copy in their pocket. All they need to do is show that copy to the grid chief or starter and they're good to go, hence the "ticket to ride"

Stamps are fine until it gets hot and humid outside, but how often is that?

You must not have had your hand stamped much ... that stuff doesn't come off easily.

That's why I'm against the stamp idea...I hate those things

I think folks would wear the wristbands correctly if it becomes clear that driver & passenger must show them before the car is allowed to exit grid...just like at the track days I've participated in.

It's easy to get proper placement of the wrist bands - install 'em, don't just hand 'em out.

We just need to have a system in place and make an honest effort to employ it .It may not be perfect but it is an effort that is being made to comply .

As a member of the bar with 20 years insurance experience, I have to agree that Ricky's original idea and reasoning are both great!

Sure... It may be a PITA (not really), but what safety or risk prevention measures are not to some extent.

I bite my lip at several other things as well.

Sounds good to me. One thing though ... do we need to use specific bands for different things? Like one for wavier, one for driver, one for rider? That way it will be easier for the grid workers to keep up.

I'd say count the number of wristbands and not necessarily the color code. There may be a time when we might run out of wristbands of a certain color. So Ricky's idea of 2 wristbands for anyone in a car is it. You get one for signing the waiver, you get another when you register as either a driver or a passenger. Placed on either wrist so the grid chief can see it easily.

Makes sense, just thought I'd ask. Are we in agreement that Waviers and Registration take care of giving out wristbands and the Worker Chief and Grid handle verification?

Grid and Start. Worker chief would be done by that point. I'll make an announce at the drivers meeting about showing your wristbands to the Grid Chief.

I was mentioning Worker Chief needing to explain duties to the grid worker.

Might be a good idea to implement this for RallyCross, as well. The subject did come up, in casual conversation, Sunday.

                              John,
I signed up at the event last weekend. What needs to happen next? Do my points count being that I am a novice? I don't have a member number yet...probably because I signed up at the event. TIA!

I sent your application into SCCA National office with your check. If all is good, you should be receiving your membership card soon. They will have to validate the weekend membership form numbers you referenced on the application. If there are any problems you should be hearing from them.
Points are counted for SCCA members. If you are a non-member you have until the 4th points event to get a full membership to have your points count for the season, since the qualifier for Championships is to run 6 events in the same class.
