Forum will no longer be utilized!

After facing many challenges with utilization of this forum for many years, the board voted on the evening of 1/12/2026 to stop use of the forum in favor of the modern, more effective means.

Most of our general club organization will now be coordinated via Discord and results from our events along with schedules and announcements will be hosted on our main alscca.net webpage.

What does this mean for the old forum? Well, in short we are going to stop using it. This has been reviewed several times in the past few years, and there has been a desire for some of more tenured members of the club to have the historic content preserved. In an effort to preserve this content, it was discovered that we could not simply export the content to be placed in a modern website. This forum will now become an archive only forum and will not be monitored. If you wish to preserve any of the content, this is your time to search the pages to find it. There is no promise that this content will remain available forever with the fragile nature of this forum.

Info for the 2010 Solo Season....

We have supplemental rules regarding the Solo events and how points are scored and some rules that everyone needs to know.

We also have a pdf of the article that Matt wrote up about solo for the first timers.
What to do and what to expect are sometimes overlooked by those of us that have done it for a while. Hopefully this info will help novices and old timers alike.

I also include an SCCA membership form to fill out to join SCCA and receive discounts on entry fees as well as a subscription to SPORTSCAR magazine. SCCA members also have their points counted toward a year end Championship.

    Thanks!

more info for the 2010 Solo season...

Here's a REVISED schedule for the events and the season, and a current rate sheet for entry fees. The new dates are highlighted in orange on the Solo Flyer. All remaining dates are on Sundays at BRC.

Regular entry for members is still $30.00 and
Non Members is $40.00 with a completed SCCA weekend membership form.

We're offering a First Timer Entry Fee of $25.00 with a completed SCCA weekend membership form. This allows the First Timer a lower entry fee on their First visit to give solo a try.

Also available is a Family discount whereas the First driver pays full price and the
second driver gets a $5 discount and the third or more driver(s) receives a $10 discount off the regular SCCA membership rate. (Adult, spouse and/or dependant child or children that qualify for SCCA 1st Gear program. (Under 24 years old) Must be SCCA members to receive discount.

      Ticket to ride

Just a heads up for passengers at our autocross events. According to a new SCCA rule, in order to allow passengers to be covered under SCCA event insurance, all passengers must fill out a weekend membership form.

There is no cost for filling out the weekend membership so all we need is you to come to the registration trailer and fill out the form and keep a copy of it to show the grid chief or the starter. This will be your ticket to ride.

Are we continuing with the single waistband for drivers? The old two-band system could work well for this. One to be on the grounds and the second to be on course.

might be cheaper to do wristbands instead of waistbands, less material. heheheheeh

Did you seriously mention two wristbands? Really? Could we just get a stamp or something for the wavier station?

Haha predictive text failure! I only thought of it because we used to do it. I'd rather just have one, but safety wins. A stamp isn't a bad idea, either.

Guys ,I know its a PITA,but it's per risk management national that all people driving or riding on course be covered by the insurance and the way that happens is if they are members . Think of it like this ...if we do all that the insurance requires and there is an incident ....the insurance is exposed...if we dont do all that is required...WE are exposed .....when I say we I mean we as in Ricky Ragan or John Waight or Matt or Jordan or ETC...Short answer is we gotta make this happen exactly like they say .

If they are not yearly members and they are driving or riding, then they must fill out the weekend membership form. We do need to be able to tell if all of the people on course have met the requirements to be there . Im sure we can come up with a way to do that .

Im sure I will get rebutted on this but I thought that it was simple enough to have a armband for everyone...AT THE WAIVER STATION...and then give riders and drivers a second at the trailer where they all have to come check in and pay ....
Where is the complication with that ?

                      Just a suggestion .

2 armbands seem to be the logical choice. One question: who will be responsible for checking armbands? Start, or someone working in grid?

Grid is the first line of defense ...all vehicle occupants need 2 armbands ,2 helmets, and 2 seatbelts to exit their grid spot .Start needs only to be concerned with the safe spacing of cars and all that is attached to that task.

would a dot legal cup do for the 2nd helmet?

I'm fine with the armband idea as long as it's followed through with. Last season we were pushed to do the arm bands and we did it at registration, but no one else checked for them or cared really. Registration can handle the bands if the worker chief can take care of making sure the grid worker knows their responsibility and the grid worker will actually do their job.

I still like the stamp idea though ... people hate those armbands and a few people don't put them on their wrists ... the opt for a hat or belt loop or something. Physically stamping a hand is faster and controls the placement. Something like red for wavier and black for driver would work. Green for a rider would work if needed. I don't know the costs, but this might be cheaper than bands too.
