I don't know, there is no way for tech to test all locking belts. Some only lock when the car is in a panic stop. It's not in the rules that way, and the rules are to long to put your doc. How about "Must have working seat belts" and leave it at that? Your call.

I like that. Anyone with harnesses or modified belts will likely know the rules and not have to reference this. For new people, that line is great.

I agree 100%. I have never ever told anyone I was going to a SOLO because no one in the world would understand. I have always gone to gymkhanas, slaloms, and autocrosses, time trials, PDEs, PDXs, and club races because that is what they are. SOLO isn't a thing, it’s a name that was given to a thing (two things actually). It was so confusing the Mother Ship dropped it from Time Trials and will likely drop it altogether when she takes a second deep breath to clear her collective head.

Why we continue to confuse people, particularly the ones we are trying to attract makes no sense at all. It is really not a good plan. Judging by the length of Matt's post we have plenty to explain without piling on senseless data.

Thank you Matt for the composition and the suggestion to make it a "sticky" here. Excellent.

Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don't want to have to restart my collection ...... again.

I didn't realize there were cars that tied the seat belt locking mechanism into emergency situations. I thought they were all *tug real hard real quick* and it locks...

I think,it would be best if we just leave it at ..."properly operating seatbelts".

Anyone else have comments? All input is welcomed and appreciated (though I may not use it). =)

Let's make this final so we can sticky it.

Added the "T" class and made some minor text changes in the classes section.

This was created several years ago; it may need updating, but it's fairly comprehensive:

1 part MacGyver, 1 part Stephen Hawking, 1 part Jed Clampett, 1 part Bart Simpson

The link isn't working for me.

                      EDIT :: Got it ... http://www.thumbsupracing.com/SoloGuide.pdf

That's very comprehensive ... I really wanted to keep this short. I'll read through that file and see if I'm missing anything that I meant to include.

To that end, you may just want to link to it.

You could just put a link at the bottom of your version pointing people to the "unabridged" version. Or we could make it a page on the new site in the faq section.

I like the idea of putting it on the site after making sure it is up-to-date. With just a quick scan I can see a few things that could be updated. The demo version of the new site currently links to a similar document from another region.

Toss this link in there, and throw it on the laptop so we can print it out and leave it in the trailer.

If you include that link be real clear that it is an old list and many vehicle classifications have changed for 2010.
