Will the entry fee be the same for everyone for the Charity Event? Earlier in the year the setup crew had the opportunity to pay for the year, I paid for it but I wonder if I need to pay an additional entry fee for this special event? Is there a minimum price for the unwrapped toy for the fun runs? $5 minimum?

          just wondering

I forgot about that detail John .Im glad you brought it up .The setup crew has the same entry as usual. If you paid the season forward you are good to go ,if you didnt and you are on the setup crew ,its the same entry as usual .

By the way ,the guys from the Honda plant will be there with one of their modded odysseys. My understanding is that its not the one they posted a pic of on the forum but similar.

ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING event today. The last solo event of 08 and my last one as solo chairman , totally exceeded my expectations in every category. We had 65 drivers registered,2 run groups with a 1 hour lunch break.

A big congratulations to all of the folks who came out to the event and gave so freely and generously during and after the event today .

I did a count of the donations we recieved today .After paying the rent for the site and the expenses to put on the event ,we recieved ,for contribution to the charitys...drum roll....$1500.00!!!That is awesome .You guys and gals rock.I dont know how many donations were made directly to both charitys nor do i know how many t-shirts they may have sold but id say this was a huge success.

I counted the money from the fun runs and doing the math ,there were 60+fun runs taken at $5 each ,not to mention the ones that were purchased with a toy. Thanks for all of the folks who took fun runs .You can certainly sleep tonight with the assurance you all helped do something good for a family who needs it especially right here at thanksgiving and Christmas time .

Thanks for the folks who paid above and beyond their entry fee this morning .You know who you are .

Thanks most of all for a great year and a great event to end my time as solo chairman.I made plenty of mistakes this year and learned alot, but all of the folks who had my back throughout the season made me look like i did a beter job than I did.

See you at the year end banquet,

              Drive well,

I had a lot of fun! Thanks for all the events this year.

Here are a couple of videos. I had some corrupt files on the SD card and lost a couple of runs. But I got two good ones from different mount positions.

                  Which location shows best??

My second run with the camera hung from the windshield.
                  Video 2

My fifth run with the camera on the roof over the driver.

Hey Mike, it was great to meet you today!

The perspective is sooo similar from one to the other. I preferred the windshield one because I could hear your engine & tires better, and the camera was slightly steadier so the quality seemed a little better to me. Enjoyed em both - that was a fun course!

^^ i agree with her, fifth run looks the best, but the lack of engine and tire sound makes it weird to watch.

awesome event, I had to take off early, and ended up with some kind of virus, I am sure it was Yoderitis. Course was insane, I forgot how much fun auto x is, even in the slowest car ever.

                          Lookin forward to next year

Paul I posted this in a separate thread called IRONY ON WHEELS :

That dadgummed Honda Odyssey! IRONY ON WHEELS, I tell you. Looks like a soccer mom, roars around the track like a race car. Really impressive! Paul, Jackie & Jeremy - it was great to meet the men behind the madness that is your race car. You guys did great and I hope you had a good time. Looked like you were having fun. This was only my second event, and I'll definitely be back next year - I hope yall will be back, too!

I have a question for the Honda folks..

I didn't get a chance to look it over, but I assume the van was an automatic... that being the case...why in the second run group was it constantly on the rev limiter? Was it set in low and does it not have the "save yourself" kind of box that would shove it up a gear no matter what if it was into the rev limiter that hard?

                                Just curious..
