I read (somewhere) that the WF snows would only get about 12K of normal street driving. I'd be surprised if you could get that much from them around here.

The biggest issue, as mentioned, is tread-squirm. You would not want to drive any distance at all on these tires, for safety reasons alone.

And for some reason, I'm thinking studs are specifically prohibited in the rules, but then again, I'm wrong more often than right.

And No, I've not run them backwards YET. The next sloppy event I will be sure to give it a try.

Studs would not improve grip on any surface other than ice. I'm too lazy to look up legality.

I'm thinking the rules do not allow them, unless there is ice on the course surface.

I've been reading the stuffing out of the rules to figure out what I can do with my Ghia and the rules state you can only use studs when ice or snow is present on the course.

I probably read that at some point and, in my head, just ruled it out completely....
you know, with all of the snow and ice we experience in the SEDiv.

And really, Edwin is the only "stud" we can tolerate.

Speedos ?? I guess that's better than the alternative.

LOL !!! And now I'm, unfortunately, picturing Edwin with driving shoes, helmet and speedos.....(sorry Will, how'd that taste this time?)

Uggghhhhhhh I guess Edwin's speedos could be considered a "comfort item" but I think that making the competition sick has to be some sort of violation. I think we should fall back on the "if it's not in the rules, it's against the rules" concept.

On topic content.... on another forum where I'm discussing setting my Ghia for PR, a UK member that Rallys a RWD car pointed me to some really neat gravel tires they use to help the steering on RWD cars. I'm going to look for a US source and post back.
